Eurovision 2022: Eurovision.tv targeted By cyber attacks!
A number of cyber attacks have taken place over the last few days in Italy on government Italian websites, this also including the official Eurovision Song Contest website Eurovision.tv.
The attack has been claimed by a pro-Russian hacking group called Killnet which has resulted in a number of Italian government websites shutting down for over an hour and was impossible to access them, which included Ministry of Defense, the Senate, the Higher Institute of Health and ACI. Italian police have said “an investigation was ongoing, but made no further comment.”
One of the hackers main objective was to disrupt the running of the contest which is be held in Turin, and the Grand Final this coming Saturday. The attack on the Eurovision.tv was fortunately unsuccessful as there was no downtime or errors on the site. The EBU has made no comment about the attack as of yet.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest is in Turin, Italy which is this coming Saturday with 25 acts performing on stage including Ukraine as favourites to win the contest.
