Israel: Yuval Raphael heads to Eurovision 2025 with record-breaking budget
A few days ago, Yuval Raphael was selected to represent Israel in Eurovision 2025. Television network Keshet 12 will finance the delegation’s costs with a record-breaking budget of 3.5 million shekels (approximately 1 million euros), as part of its partnership with the public broadcaster Kan. This marks the highest budget in Israel’s Eurovision history, with the country currently leading betting odds as a favorite to win the competition.
The funding will cover the delegation’s security—necessary due to heightened risks—along with the production of the song representing Israel and the special broadcast on Kan 11 to reveal the entry. This collaboration saves Kan millions of shekels, enabling further investment in original productions.
Advertising Value and Kan 11 – Keshet 12 Partnership
Keshet 12 reportedly earned around 25 million shekels from advertising and sponsorships during HaKokhav HaBa, which hit a five-year high in ratings. Meanwhile, Kan benefits from a multi-million-shekel advertising package to promote its programs, both surrounding Eurovision and other original content.
A Strategic Partnership with Mutual Benefits
The partnership between Kan and Keshet 12 stems from a strategic decision. Kan could have organized an internal selection process but instead opted to collaborate with a private network like Keshet to produce the show. This arrangement not only reduces costs but also boosts the visibility of Israel’s Eurovision entry.
Thanks to this agreement, Israel strengthens its Eurovision momentum while showcasing the potential of public-private collaboration in media.
