Azerbaijan: Mamagama’s “Run With U” for Eurovision 2025 released!

Earlier in February, Ictimai TV, Azerbaijan’s public broadcaster, revealed the artist that will represent the Land of Fire at Eurovision 2025, announcing Mamagama as their representative for this year. Now, a few days later, it’s time to listen to their entry for the stage in Basel, for the first time!

In an unprecedented decision for the country, the public broadcaster decided to announce both its representative and their song early this year, as it is traditionally one of the last to present both their song and their artist.

Thus, Mamagama’s song for Eurovision 2025 is called “Run With U” and it’s officially released today, hoping to bring the country back to the final after two consecutive non-qualifications.

The lyrics are written by Safael Mishi, who’s part of the band, and the music s composed by him alongside Roman Zee and KHVS. Fahree & Ilkin Dovlatov, representatives in 2024 and TuralTuranX, representatives in 2023 make brief appearances in the music video.

Who are Mamagama?

Mamagama is an Azerbaijani band, known to fans for their participation in the Kënga Magjike in 2022, where they won the “Best International New Artist” category and took fourth place in the final scoreboard. Azerbaijan has announced that Mamagama will be its representative at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest. This is an interesting decision by Ictimai TV, as Mamagama is the first band ever to represent the country in the competition.

The announcement was made a couple of weeks ago by Ictimai Television. Following the completion of the official music video for their Eurovision entry, the country is now gearing up to unveil the song to the public. The countdown for the premiere of the music video is already live on the official Eurovision YouTube channel, with the reveal set for tomorrow, on 14:00 CET.

How were Mamagama selected?

A total of 154 songs were submitted to the public broadcaster, with the top 12 being advancing to the next stage and being evaluated by local and international music experts. The jury included the country’s representatives in 2009 and 2017, Aysel Teymurzada and Diana Hajiyeva, as well as DJ Heyder, among others.

Azerbaijan: Watch a teaser of Mamagama’s entry for Eurovision 2025!

Earlier this week, Mamagama, the representatives of Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2025, revealed that their music video was filmed in just one day, with no location changes. Now, the band is ready to show us a short teaser of it, in advance of their song’s release later in February.

The public broadcaster released a short preview of the band’s music video on their social media. In the clip, we can see the band members in a futuristic location that seems like a movie.
