Iceland: Systur faced technical difficulties during the Jury Rehearsal!

The Icelandic band Systur has revealed that they faced  technical problems during yesterday’s Jury Semi Final One.

Systur described that a failure occured in the sound system which was “upsetting” to them as they did not have such problems during previous rehearsals.

The failure was apparently not detected by the juries but brought Systur out of balance as they were unable to hear each other on stage during their performance. However, they feel that the rehearsal went “incredibly well despite the failure”.

Systur will compete tonigh on the first semi-final  for a ticket for the Final, with the song “Með hækkandi sól”:

Eurovision 2022: Iceland’s Second Rehearsal!

We’re starting the day with the Icelandic trio – Systur and they’re ready for their second rehearsal! They’re performing 14th on May 10 during the First Semi-Final! Systur’s song Með Hækkandi Sól means ‘with the rising sun’, so it’s literally the morning after a night of Austrian techno. Some more super-stylish retro outfits – the sixties and seventies are VERY big in the costume department this year. This performance has some beautiful harmonies, and the glittery graphics make it feel quite magical. 100% would attend this Icelandic family gathering. This is what we found out after the first rehearsal!

About Iceland’s Second Rehearsal

The performance is similar to what we saw during the Iceland National Selection – Songvakeppnin. It starts from a very gorgeous angle showing the water and then showing the Iceland trio. Looks very polished and beautiful. Unlike Songvakeppnin performance it’s more shiny, as NF performance was mysterious. They managed to create a magical atmosphere and the camera angles are on point. Smoke was missing, in my personal opinion. The camera angles are on point though!

Eurovision 2022: Iceland’s first rehearsal!

Next up on the stage of Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is Iceland. Systur with the songMeð Hækkandi Sól”  are ready for his first rehearsal on the stage of PalaOlimpico in Turin!

Everything about Systur:

Sigga, Beta and Elín are a band of sisters who have been singing together for as long as they can remember.

The girls previously assembled a group named after their beloved grandmother, Sísí Ey; scoring a huge hit in Iceland with the song, Ain’t Got Nobody.

Their father, Eythor, was a member of the legendary jazz-funk band, Mezzoforte, who scored a UK number 17 hit in 1983 with the song Garden Party. Their mother, Ellen, is also a singer, and their brother (also named Eythor) will join them on stage playing drums.

The three siblings believe strongly in the healing power of music and spend much of their time supporting those who are marginalised in society. In recent years, they have focused their activism on trans children’s rights, and are deeply involved with the local community
