EXCLUSIVE: This is the songwriter behind Remember Monday’s Eurovision 2025 entry for the UK!

You read it here first—this year, the United Kingdom will be represented by a girl band. The group in question is Remember Monday, as revealed earlier by The Sun. Now, Eurovisionfun brings you an exclusive revelation: the name of the songwriter behind the song that will represent the UK in the competition.

Who are Remember Monday? The British country-pop trio consists of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele. This is not their first time competing in a televised singing competition.

In 2019, they participated in The Voice, and since then, they have performed live countless times and amassed more than 500,000 followers on TikTok.

Their official announcement by the BBC is expected soon.

Who wrote the song? As we mentioned in a previous article, the song was created by a team of songwriters with Eurovision experience, one of whom has even won the contest before.

That songwriter is Thomas Stengaard, the mastermind behind Only Teardrops, the song that led Denmark’s Emmelie de Forest to victory in Eurovision 2013.

With a completely different approach compared to last year’s entry, the BBC hopes to achieve a better result in Basel.

As previously reported, the BBC has already selected its representative for Eurovision 2025, and in the coming weeks, both the artist and the song that will represent the United Kingdom in Basel are expected to be revealed. However, Eurovisionfun brings you exclusive first details!

According to our exclusive information, the BBC has chosen a girl band to represent the country in the competition. The selection process was not easy, as several artists were under consideration by the delegation.

The song, according to our sources, is penned by an experienced team familiar with the contest, with one of the creators even having a past Eurovision victory.

Last year, at Eurovision 2024, the UK was represented by the well-known artist Olly Alexander with the song “Dizzy.” However, he only managed to secure 18th place in the grand final with 46 points. Notably, for yet another year, the country received 0 points from the televote.

The United Kingdom in search of artist and song for Eurovision 2025

The song and artist that will represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025 will be publicly announced before the deadline set by the European Broadcasting Union in March 2025. Leading the selection process is renowned music producer David May, in collaboration with Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer of BBC Studios North.

David May is no stranger to Eurovision, having been the manager of Sam Ryder in 2022, when the United Kingdom secured second place in the competition held in Turin.

The preparations for selecting the representative and song for 2025 have been underway for some time, with several UK record labels, publishers, songwriters, as well as BBC Music and BBC Introducing, all playing a key role in finding the right act and song for Eurovision.
