San Marino: The first names of Una Voce per San Marino 2024!

The first artists who will participate in the first round of auditions for Una Voce per San Marino 2024 have just been announced.

Applications for the “new” artists category are now open and will remain open until 10 January 2024.

The “Academy and Casting” stage will start on 10 November and will conclude ten days after the submission deadline, on 20 January.

How will Una Voce per San Marino 2024 work?

The 2024 edition will include both “new” and “established” artists, as in 2022.

  • Applications for the “new artists” category are now open and will remain open until 10 January 2024. Those interested can register on the corresponding registration site of the event. The “Academy and Casting” stage will start on 10 November and will end ten days after the submission deadline, on 20 January. The aforementioned castings can be carried out online for those who live far from Italy. After this process, 80 artists will qualify for the semi-finals.
  • As for the category of “established artists“, the broadcaster will send out invitations and proposals.

In the Grand Final there will be 16 participants, 8 from each category. Both “established” and “new” artists will compete with only one of their songs.

There are no other specific rules regarding the submitted entries. Language, musical style, as well as the nationality of the artists is completely free.

The Grand Final of Una Voce per San Marino is scheduled for March 2 2024. It will be held at the Teatro Nuovo di Dogana, the same venue that hosted the selection in 2022 and 2023. The winner will be decided by the vote of a special jury.

Despite this lengthy national selection process, the Piqued Jacks, winners of UVPSM 2023, failed to qualify for the Grand Final last year, placing last in the semi-final with zero points.

San Marino: The Grand Final of “Una Voce per San Marino” will take place on March 2!

San Marino has confirmed since August that “Una Voce per San Marino” will remain as the country’s selection format for Eurovision 2024.

The return of “Una Voce per San Marino” marks the fourth time in San Marino’s Eurovision history that a national selection is being used and the third time that this specific format is chosen.

A press release by the Sanmarinese national broadcaster gave us more details about the 2024 national selection.

The 2024 edition will include both “emerging” and “big” artists, as in 2022.

  • The applications for the “emerging artists” category have now opened and will remain open until the 10th of January 2024. Those who are interested can register on the “Una Voce per San Marino” registration website. The “Academy and Casting” phase will start on November 10th and will finish ten days after the deadline, on January 20. The casting sessions can be held online for those not living near Italy. After this procedure, 80 artists will proceed to the semifinals.
  • Regarding the “big artists” category, invitations will be sent by the Sanmarinese broadcaster.

In the Grand Final, 16 participants will compete, 8 from each category. Both “big” and “emerging” artists will be able to sing only one of their songs in the Grand Final.

There are no other specific rules regarding the submitted acts. There is a freedom of language, music style and territoriality.

Despite this marathon session of a national selection, Piqued Jacks, UVPSM 2023 winners, did not manage to qualify to the Grand Final, finishing dead least with nul points.

San Marino: Una Voce per San Marino paves the way for Eurovision 2024!

Una Voce per San Marino will remain as the San Marino selection for Eurovision 2024.

Una Voce per San Marino has been confirmed for its third edition in order to select San Marino’s entry for Eurovision 2024. Last year’s 2023 edition of Una Voce per San Marino saw the show expand, with 106 artists selected through casting to compete in the live semi-finals, making it one of the biggest national finals of the 2023 season.

The 2024 edition will see more changes to the format, including the return of the wildcard that will allow big names to have direct access to the finals for the first time since 2022.

Una Voce per San Marino 2024 will mark the fourth time that San Marino will choose to participate in Eurovision through a national final. The first time was in 2018, when 1in360 was used as the country’s national final for Eurovision.

Una Voce per San Marino was held for the first time in 2022 with Achille Lauro winning the first edition and representing San Marino in Turin with the song “Stripper”, while last year the Piqued Jacks with their song “Like an Animal” won the second edition of Una Voce per San Marino, in which over 100 artists participated in the live performances to claim victory and represent the country in Liverpool.
