Belgium: National final for Eurovision 2023!

The Eurovision commentator for VRT, Peter Van de Veire, announced tonight during the tv show ‘Zomerhit’ that Belgium will organize a national final to select the representative for Eurovision 2023.

This marks the first time since 2016 that Belgium will host a national final to select its entry. Rumors were circulating since April but it is now official that Belgium will not have an internal selection as the last years. More details on the format will be revealed at a later stage by the broadcaster.

‘The Voice Belgique’ winner Jérémie Makiese represented Belgium in Eurovision 2022 with the song ‘Miss you’, placed 19th in the Grand final with 64 points in total.
