Ogae Song Contest 2022 was canceled!
Ogae International announced that Ogae Song Contest 2022 was canceled due to the current conditions, which followed with the non -dismissal of Ogae Russia from the competition and the subsequent departure of Ogae Germany, the United Kingdom and of course Ukraine.
The Board of Directors of Ogae International made the decision to cancel the Ogae 2022 song contest. Ogae Ukraine had initially invited OGAE to remove the Russian club from the competition, as the artist who was chosen to represent Russia is said to be involved in propaganda of Putin in the war currently taking place in Ukraine. Following Ogae International’s decision not to remove Ogae Russia from the list of participants, the clubs from Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Germany, withdrew their entries as a sign of protest.
In a statement OGAE International has said:
It is with regret that the Bureau has decided to cancel this year’s OGAE Song Contest.
The current circumstances mean that it has proved impossible to hold this year’s contest within our traditional spirit of friendly competition.
