Germany: National final confirmed for Eurovision 2023 | Submission window for “Unser Lied für Liverpool” is now open!

A few days ago NDR, the public broadcaster of Germany, had stated that they will announce their plans on the selection process for Eurovision 2023, on November 9!

The most possible scenario that online users expected, was once again the holding of a national final. So today NDR, went one step ahead and confirmed that rumor by saying that they will organise a national final as well as returing to their previous format, going by the name “Unser Lied für Liverpool” (last year the national final was called “Germany 12 Points”). Alongside the announcement, the broadcaster opened the submission window for songs and artist desiring to take part in the contest, which will be open until November 28.

NDR’s announcement says:

You can sing and have the perfect song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 ? Then you can now apply here with your song for the German ESC preliminary round “Our song for Liverpool”.

Whether it’s a solo act, duo or band, established artist or talented newcomer, pop, country, electro, R’n’B, Schlager or rock: we look forward to all applications and a diverse preliminary decision. The application phase ends on November 28, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

Those interested can submit their songs here.

The national final will be a co-production of NDR and Bildergarten Entertainment and will take place by next March.
