Armenia: With Ladaniva at Eurovision 2024?

Armenia remains tight-lipped about its Eurovision 2024 plans, but the rumor mill is buzzing with speculation. Traditionally, the country has seen various contenders vie for the coveted role, with whispers suggesting a potential return to a national final format, a method last employed in 2020.

Recent online chatter hints at one of Armenia‘s most prominent musical acts, the globally recognized group LADANIVA, taking up the mantle for Eurovision 2024. The news purportedly slipped out through a now-deleted Instagram story from the band’s official account:

“Soon, we will release a new song. We can’t wait to sing in front of the entire planet for Armenia.”

Who are LADANIVA?

LADANIVA is a multicultural ensemble that weaves a rich tapestry of global music, incorporating Armenian folk with influences from maloya, reggae, Balkanbeat, Arabic, and African traditions. Founded in October 2019 by Armenian vocalist Jacqueline Baghdasaryan and French multi-instrumentalist Louis Thomas, the group gained instant fame with their debut song, “Vay Aman,” showcasing a fresh musical style and a unique approach.
