Iceland: The results of the second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin 2025!
The second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin 2025, the song contest though which Iceland is going to choose their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, took place tonight, at the RVK Studios, in Reykjavik. Five acts competed in tonight’s semi-final, claiming the three tickets that lead to the final of Söngvakeppnin on Saturday 22nd of February.
The hosts of tonigh’s show were Benedikt Valsson, Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir and Fannar Sveinsson.
The second semi-final was opened by Yohanna, the runner up of Eurovision 2009, achieving for the second time the best placing of Iceland. She performed Céline Dion’s winning entry “Ne partez pas sans moi” and her 2009 entry “Is it true?”.

The contestants
Five acts took the stage in order to persuade the televoters and to take the three tickets for the grand final of the Icelandic song contest.
- Dagur Sig – “Carousel” / “Flugdrekar”
- Júlí og Dísa – “Fire” / “Eldur”
- Bára Katrín – “Rise Above”/“Rísum Upp”
- Bjarni Arason – “Aðeins Lengur”
- Tinna – “Words” / “Þrá”
All the songs were performed in their icleandic versions for the semi-finals phase.
The first act that took the stage was Dagur Sig with the song “Flugdrekar”. He began his performance on a platform. Vocally was very good.
Next in line were Júlí og Dísa with the song “Eldur”. A very dynamic performance and very impressive graphics and visual effects.
The third act was Bára Katrín with the song “Rísum Upp”. A very atmospheric performance. She is surrounded by candles. Vocally was good.
Second to last entry was Bjarni Arason with the song “Aðeins lengur”. A somehow vintage but passionate performance.
The last entry of this semi-final was Tinna with the song “Þrá”. A pleasant pop performance with the slight country sounds.
With the completion of the competitve part, the lines opened for the televoters to cast their votes.
The three acts that qualified for the final of Söngvakeppnin 2025 are as per below:
- Júlí og Dísa – “Fire” / “Eldur”
- Bjarni Arason – “Aðeins Lengur”
- Tinna – “Words” / “Þrá”
The above qualifiers are joining the below three qualifiers of the first semi-final:
- Væb – “Róa”
- Stebbi Jak – “Set Me Free”/“Freslið Mitt”
- Ágúst – “Like You” / “Eins Og Þú”
Our appointment is renewed for next Saturday, February 22nd for the Final of Söngvakeppnin 2025, when we will find out the representative of Iceland in Eurovision 2025.
