Lithuania: Voting issues reported at Eurovizija.LT 2025

Katarsis will represent Lithuania at Eurovision 2025 with the song “Tavo akys,” after winning Eurovizija.LT 2025. However, the national selection was overshadowed by technical issues that disrupted the voting process.

Viewers encountered difficulties while casting their votes, particularly during the Top 3 phase. TCG Telecom, the company responsible for handling the telephone voting system, experienced an unexpected surge in calls, which resulted in busy signals for some voters. Additionally, SMS votes were delayed, with some confirmation messages arriving long after the votes had already been counted.

LRT Deputy Director General, Gytis Oganauskas, apologized for the issues and stated that the broadcaster is considering switching voting service providers to prevent similar problems in future editions.

Further disruptions occurred as the Superfinal’s start was pushed back due to an overrun of the Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė match. The broadcast also ran longer than planned because of the addition of two wildcard acts. LRT issued another apology for these scheduling conflicts.

Despite the voting complications, an independent audit conducted by Grant Thornton Baltic confirmed that the final results were unaffected, and Katarsis’ victory remained valid.
