Norway: 832,000 viewers for Melodi Grand Prix 2025!

NRK 1 saw an average of 832,000 viewers watch the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2025, down 11,000 viewers compared to 2024. Over the course of the final, the contest reached 1,187,000 viewers.

Mads Tørklep, Head of Delegation for Norway stated:

“When we have put Melodi Grand Prix at the start of the winter break and manage to keep the viewership stable with last year, it is very strong. Especially in a year where we have not had semi-finals and where it may have been difficult to maintain engagement.”

The Head of Delegation added that for the 2026 edition NRK will consider whether Semi-Finals will be added back to the contest. In Mr Tørklep’s view it is unlikely due to the Winter Olympics which will be held in Italy between February 6 and 22.
