Junior Eurovision 2024: Listen to the Spanish entry!

Back in July, RTVE announced that the nine-year-old Chloe DelaRosa will represent the host nation in the 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Just moments ago, Chloe’s entry titled “Como la Lola” was officially released and uploaded on RTVE’s website.

You can listen to “Como la Lola“, below:

How was Chloe and her song selected?

Spain’s selection process for Junior Eurovision 2024 consisted of two phases. During the first phase, a submission window was opened for aspiring young artists. RTVE received around 300 applications, almost three times as many as compared to last year’s corresponding process.

In addition and after the end of the submission period, a casting was held on July 16 in Madrid where a jury of experts evaluated the young talents and made a decision.

Chloe’s song was also selected internally by an RTVE committee. RTVE made a call to songwriters and composers to submit songs suitable for the young artist.

Who is Chloe DelaRosa?

Chloe describes herself as a “cantista”, which is a combination of the words singer and artist in Spanish (cantante and artista). She began performing at the age of three, but it wasn’t until lockdown in 2020 that she started recording.

On social media, she recorded covers of songs by well-known Spanish and Latin American artists, videos that many of them would share on their own social media, and which would go on to become viral, introducing Chloe to audiences all over the world.

Flamenco is the style that best defines her. In 2022, she started participating in major music festivals in Spain and has since released several singles.
