Sweden: These are the contestants of Melodifestivalen 2025!

The names of the artists selected to compete in Melodifestivalen 2025, the national final through which Sweden’s entry for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, will be selected, have just been announced.

In the list below, you can see the artists and the titles of their songs, along with their distribution in the five heats:

First Heat

Among the artists, there are several notable returns such as John Lundvik who won Melodifestivalen in 2019 and Arvingarna who represented Sweden in 1993. There are also the fan-favourites Klara Hammarström and Annika Wickihalder, as well as SCARLET, who made an impression in last year’s festival. Of course, in the list we can see Måns Zelmerlöw, the winner of Eurovision 2015 competing himself, but also Loreen, who is competing once again, but this time as a songwriter.

The songs will be released each Friday before every Heat. This way, fans will have the opportunity to listen to the songs before they compete!

Melodifestivalen 2025

Melodifestivalen 2025 will take place between February 1 and March 8. In detail, the schedule is as follows:

  • First Heat: Saturday, February 1, 2025 – Coop Norrbotten Arena, Luleå
  • Second Heat: Saturday, February 8, 2025 – Scandinavium, Göteborg
  • Third Heat: Saturday, February 15, 2025 – ABB Arena Syd, Västerås
  • Fourth Heat: Saturday, February 22, 2025 – Malmö Arena, Malmö
  • Fifth Heat: Saturday, March 1, 2025 – Husqvarna Garden, Jönköping
  • Grand Final: Saturday, March 8, 2025 – Strawberry Arena, Stockholm

Six songs will compete in each Heat, with the audience determining 100% of the results. The top two songs will qualify directly to the Grand Final, while the third-placed songs will move on to the “Final Qual” round. In this round, the song with the highest score in its respective heat will qualify directly for the final, and the audience will decide on one more song from the remaining four.

Twelve songs will compete in the Grand Final. The audience and the jury will each contribute 50% to the final result, deciding the next representative of Sweden.

The winners of Melodifestivalen and Sweden’s representatives for Eurovision 2024 were Marcus & Martinus with their song “Unforgettable,” which placed ninth in the Grand Final:
