Azerbaijan: Mamagama Band will represent the country in Eurovision 2025!

Moments ago, Ictimai TV, Azerbaijan’s public broadcaster, revealed the artist that will represent the Land of Fire at Eurovision 2025, which will take place in May in Basel, Switzerland!

In an unprecedented decision for the country, the public broadcaster chose to announce its representative early this year, as it is traditionally one of the last to present both their song and their artist.

Thus, Ictimai TV has just announced that Mamagama Band will represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2025, taking part in the second half of the first semi-final on May 13!

The public broadcaster has teased us that they will do something that they have never done before in the contest. And in fact, the country has never been represented by a band before!

A total of 154 songs were submitted to the public broadcaster, with the top 12 being advancing to the next stage and being evaluated by local and international music experts. The jury included the country’s representatives in 2009 and 2017, Aysel Teymurzada and Diana Hajiyeva, as well as DJ Heyder, among others.

Mamagama Band’s song will be released in the coming weeks.

Who are Mamagama Band?

Mamagama is an Azerbaijani band, known to fans for their participation in the Kënga Magjike in 2022, where they won the “Best International New Artist” category and took fourth place in the final scoreboard. In 2023, the band was among the last five candidates to represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest. Their music combines modern sounds with traditional elements, attracting a wide audience.


Azerbaijan’s representatives in Eurovision 2024 were Fahree & Ilkin Dovlatov, with their song “Özünlə apar”, which didn’t manage to qualify, keeping the country away from the Grand Final for the second year in a row:
