Eurovision 2022: Denmark’s First Rehearsal!

The third act for today is Denmark with REDDI and their song “The Show” and she is ready to make her first impression of this year’s Eurovision stage in Turin.

Everything about REDDI:

REDDI are a Danish/Swedish pop-rock band made up of Siggy on vocals, Ida on bass, Agnes on guitar, and Ihan on drums. The group made their debut at the 2022 edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, where they won with their song “The Show”. For drummer Ihan, this is the second time she has graced the Eurovision stage, having previously participated in 2012 with Danish artist Soluna Samay.

The Rehearsal

The band brought some serious retro styling too – is this the most fashion-forward Eurovision ever? Maybe it’s the Italian influence, but we’re loving all this year’s looks.

They’ve also gone for block neon colours on the graphic backdrop, which give it big stage impact. Throw in a bonus key change, and we’ve definitely shaken off the Sunday cobwebs. Reddi also have on-stage fireworks.

Greece: Die Together on stage will be like a dream | Soon the first rehearsal of Amanda!

The first rehearsal of the Greek participation takes place in a very few hours and we hope that it will be completed without problems and unexpectedly.

Fokas Evangelinos has designed for this year’s Greek entry, his most artistic stage appearance ever in his history in the contest.

What we will actually see will be a dream of Amanda, through her own eyes. The main person of course throughout the 3 minutes as we have informed you will be Amanda, in whose face we will see many close-ups and alternations.

Renaissance props, led that will travel you and take your breath away, play with shadows and lights, but also led for which shooting was required in Athens, are just some of what Fokas Evangelinos has prepared for the stage appearance of Die Together.

But do not forget that everything we will see will be a dream… and the dream ends in three minutes.

At 14.20 cet the first rehearsal of the Greek entry, with the optimism being diffused that Amanda will impress.

Eurovision 2022: Croatia’s First Rehearsal!

The second day of rehearsals continues with the Croatia and Mia Dimšić entering the stage of PalaOlimpico for her first technical rehearsal with the song “Guilty Pleasure”.

Who is Mia?

Born in Osijek, Dimšić’s musical career began when rock band Džentlmeni invited her to accompany them gigging in the US and Canada. After the tour had finished, it wasn’t long before the singer started composing her own songs. Mia’s creativity has since led to two chart-topping albums and also she already released her own memoir Cesta Do Sna (The Road to a Dream).

The Rehearsal

Mia’s dress  is a hot pink gown with flamenco ruffles. She is accompanied by three contemporary dancers who provide some lyrical storytelling with lots of movement. It’s different from anything we’ve seen so far in rehearsals, and makes great use of the huge stage.

Eurovision 2022: Artists will enter the stage like in Sanremo Festival!

Eurovision 2022 will have a great difference compared to what we are used to. The hosts of the contest (Laura PausiniMika and Alessandro Cattelan) will call each artist by their name to enter the stage, just like they do in Festival di Sanremo!

Before the postcard of each country, the hosts will call the name of the artist to enter the stage. This is a tradition that is used in the Sanremo Festival. We will also watch a few seconds of the artists entering the stage.
After that, with the help of a drone named Leo, and the addition of special 3D effects we will travel to different beautiful locations of Italy, which RAI chose for the filming of the postcards. Going even further, the artists will see a video that they haven’t watched before and react to it.

Eurovision 2022: Moldova’s First Rehearsal!

After S10’s deep ballad, Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers, Moldova’s participants, are here to make a party at the Eurovision stage with their song “Trenulețul“.

About Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers

Zdob şi Zdub are a band who have become just as infamous for their spectacular live shows, as they have for their catchy, sing-along tunes. The band have been around since 1994, honing their craft with a near constant schedule of gigs, tours and festival appearances, and managing to release 10 albums in the process.

Their debut at Eurovision was also Moldova’s very first outing at the Contest, at which Zdob și Zdub gave their nation a 6th place finish with the song Boonika Bate Toba. They were back again in 2011 with So Lucky, progressing to the grand final once more and giving Moldova a 12th place result to be proud of.

The band will be joined in Turin by the Advahov Brothers: two musicians who are so popular in Moldova, they even have their own folk orchestra, frequently playing at sold-out events across their country. Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers plan on releasing a whole album of material together.

The Rehearsal

After a long day in the arena, a bit of folklore and rock ‘n’ roll is the perfect way to wrap up today’s rehearsals. This song is SUCH fun, and Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers are bring big train energy to the Pala Olimpico stage.

They’ve gone full neon on the lighting and the graphics, AND there are even a couple of little dance routines in the chorus. It’s the first time we’ve seen the B Stage used today – there are a couple of drawbridges over the waterfall that go up and down.

This is three minutes of joyful chaos, but we are very much on board.

Below you can watch a small clip from Moldova’s first rehearsal from Tik Tok:

Eurovision 2022: The Netherlands’ first rehearsal!

The next country that takes the stage is The Netherlands with the amazing S10 and her song “De Diepte“.

About S10

S10 is the moniker of Stien den Hollander, a Dutch singer, rapper and songwriter. At just 21 years of age, the artist has made a name for herself as the darling of the Dutch alt-pop scene, winning over critics, amassing a loyal army of fans, and triumphing at prestigious awards ceremonies.
In 2016, S10 took it upon herself to write, record and self-release her first mini-album, Antipsychotica. Word of mouth led to the creative talent’s popularity to explode, resulting in a coveted record deal the following year, at the age of 17.With millions of streams to her name, collaborations with some of the Netherlands’ biggest artists and rave reviews from music critics, the headliner from Hoorn continues to forge her own path in the music industry.

The Rehearsal

This is the first of several female-led alt-pop/folk ballads this year, and it’s the first time Netherlands have sung in Dutch since 2010. They didn’t qualify on that occasion, but this song is something quite special.

S10 is Stien den Hollander, and her costume is a very stylish black dinner jacket that’s cropped at the front but has long tails at the back. Her staging is is a smoky plinth and some dramatic lighting, and it delivers real impact. The Dutch delegation seem very happy with that, and so they should.

Below you can watch a small clip from The Netherland’s first rehearsal from Tik Tok:

The next country for the first rehearsals of Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is Bulgaria with Intelligent Music Project and their song “Intention”!

About Intelligent Music Project

Intelligent Music Project is a supergroup of musicians with vast experience of performing on stage, either together or with other bands. The group has an open-door policy when it comes to invigorating its line-up with other talented musicians. The Rehearsal

Some incredible neon lighting in this performance, and impressive use of geometric shapes on the graphic backdrop too. This is a hugely polished performance from Bulgaria – there may only be a handful of spectators in the Pala Olimpico, but they’ve just blown the roof OFF.

It’s our first pyro of the day! Bulgaria have brought ALL the flames to the final chorus. We did not need eyebrows anyway.
