Eurovision 2022: The running order of the semifinals has been revealed!

With a month and a half left for the first semifinal of Eurovision 2022 on May 10, the EBU today announced the order of appearance of the songs in the semifinals.

The running order was determined by the EBU in collaboration with the Italian organizers, taking into account where each country was drawn to appear (first or second half), but also in such a way that the show is more interesting.

So, through the official Eurovision channel on YouTube, the official running order of the songs in the semifinals of this year’s contest was announced a few minutes ago.

Eurovision 2022: The running order of the Semi-Finals will be announced today!

The moment that many fans are waiting for is finally here. The announcement of the running order of the two semi-finals of Eurovision 2022 will be made today.

The running order is determined by the EBU in cooperation with the Italian organizers, taking into account in which half each country was allocated (first or second), but also to perform in a way that the show will be more interesting.

The running order of the two semi-finals, on May 10 and 12 accordingly, will be announced today, through the official YouTube channel of Eurovision.

Israel: Eurovision 2023 participation confirmed!

Israel confirmed its participation in Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and is searching for a national final format.

KAN published a tender searching for the Israeli national selection for Eurovision 2023. By launching the tender for its national final, Israel confirmed its participation for Eurovision 2023, alongside San Marino and Cyprus for which it is already known that the will compete in the contest

The Israeli public broadcaster is looking for proposals from other broadcasters of the country, to collaborate for the national final. The proposed television show would select the Israeli representative and must be a show that has been produced or broadcasted in Israel or internationally.

The tender process follows the same process as was previously used to determine the Israeli selection between 2015 and 2021. From 2015 to 2020 the Israeli representative was selected using “Rising Star”, while “The X Factor Israel” was utilised in 2021.

Israel: Marvin Dietmann will be the stage director!

Even though there are rumours the past hours regarding Michael’s withdrawal from Eurovision 2022, KAN, the Israeli Broadcasting Company, announced that Martin Dietmann will take care of the stage performance of I.M in Turin.

Martin is already well-known to the Eurovision fandom. The austrian director was the person behind Conchita Wurst’s performance back in 2014 and many more entries of the country. He was, also, the staging director of 7 countries last year, including Cyprus with the song El Diablo. It is worth mentioning, that, except Israel, it is announced that he will also stage the performance of Cyprus in 2022!

Through a post in Facebook, KAN announced the news stating the following:

Martin Dietmann will stage the Israeli entry of Eurovision 2022!

The Israeli delegation announced today that the international art director will stage the show of Michael Ben David in Turin.

Dietmann is a successful director with extensive experience in the competition. In his big career you will find a sequence of years that he was art director or participated in various other roles or with other countries. Among others, Dietmann puts his signature on the winning performance of Conchita back in 2014.

His involvement in the entry of Israel in Eurovision 2022 is justified with his huge experience in Eurovision, which stands for itself, and the wish to reach to a professional result on stage.”

Israel will perform on the first half of the second semifinal with Michael Ben David performing the song I.M, wishing to continue the qualification streak the country has since 2015.

Israel: Withdrawal of Michael Ben David from this year’s contest?

Ynet, one of Israel’s leading news and general content sites, reports that Michael Ben David, Israel’s representative at Eurovision 2022, is considering withdrawing from the competition. According to Ynet, the Israeli representative is dissatisfied with the behavior and internal policy of the team, with which he is working in view of participating in the contest:

Michael comes wholeheartedly to the competition, but if he understands that there are decisions that deprive him of the right to represent Israel with dignity, he will not go.

KAN, the Israeli Broadcasting Company, has stated that the singer continues to work on his song and the official video clip.

We remind you that Michael Ben David won the final of the Israeli version of X Factor with the song I.M. In case he decides not to withdraw from the competition, the song will be revamped.

Israel: “I.M” by Michael Ben David to undergo revamp

It was announced today that the song of this year’s israeli representative Michael Ben David, “I.M”, will be revamped.

Michael Ben David won the X Factor Israel and was therefore selected as Israel’s representative at Eurovision 2022 with the song I.M just last week. Today, it was announced that the version with which he won the X Factor will not be the final one.

Micheal said in an interview that I.M as it is now was produced within a very limited period time-wise and that his team, now that they have three months ahead of them, will do everything they can to improve the song.

We do not know the details of the upcoming changes at this time.

Israel: Michael Ben David is representing Israel to Eurovision 2022!

It’s time for Israel to choose their representative for Eurovision 2022 tonight, as the grand final of the X Factor Israel is taking place.

Inbal Bibi, Michael Ben David, Eli Huli and Sapir Saban fought to represent Israel at the 66th Eurovision Song Contest this May in Turin. The big winner was Michael Ben David!

In the show the day before yesterday, the four finalists performed two songs each, with the voting determining the song with which each of them will claim the ticket for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest.

The songs

We listened to four songs in tonight’s grand final. These songs were the following:

  • Inbal Bibi – Marionette
  • Michael Ben David – I.M 
  • Eli Huli – Blinded Dreamers
  • Sapir Saban – Breaking My Own Walls

Method of selection

Tonight’s grand final of X Factor Israel will be held in two rounds. In the first round, the four finalists will perform a cover. The artist who receives the lowest score was excluded from the continuation of the final. In the second round, the three remaining artists perofrmed their entries.

The final result was determined 25% by the jury of the show (Netta Barzilai, Aviv Geffen, Margalit Tzan’ani, Ran Danker, Miri Mesika), 25% by an international jury and 50% by the Israeli viewers.

The results

In the first round, the artist who receives the lowest score was Sapir Saban.

The winner of X factor and the next artist to represent Israel in Eurovision Song Contest in Italy is Michael Ben David, with the song “I.M”.

Israel: These are the 4 selected songs for the Final!

And now we have the 4 songs that are going to compete in the Final, on Saturday 05/2!

This special show opened with a collaboration of 4 contestants singing together, while at the end of it Eden Alene appeared, singing Set Me Free, together with the contestants.

The songs selected through the public and juries vote are the following:

  • Michael Ben David –I.M
  • Inbal Bibi – Marionette
  • Eli Huli – Blinded Dreamers
  • Sapir Saban – Breaking My Own Walls

Format

130 songs were initially submitted to the committee, now ending up in the above four songs, which will be performed by the final four that will compete for the ticket to Italy.

The song that will be chosen will be the one with which each participant will claim the representation of Israel for Eurovision 2022. Then, the audience and the jury will jointly choose the artist who will represent the country in Turin.

The XFactor Final will take place on February 5.

Israel was represented at Eurovision 2021 by Eden Alene with the song Set Me Free, occupying 17th place.

Israel: Selection of songs for Saturday’s Grand Final to be held tonight!

Two days separate us from the selection of the Israeli representative in Eurovision 2022. X Factor Israel is being completed slowly, with the four finalists having been announced a few days ago.

Inbal Bibi, Michael Ben David, Eli Huli and Sapir Saban will fight to represent Israel on the 66th Eurovision Song Contest this May in Turin.

All of them will perform two songs today, which will be judged by the preferences of the Israeli people and two juries.

The songs

We will listen to eight songs in tonight’s selection of songs for Saturday’s Grand Final. Each artist will perform two songs, with the audience and jury choosing one of the two songs by each finalist.

These songs are:

Format

130 songs were submitted to the committee which has now selected the above eight songs, which will be performed by the final four artists that will compete for the ticket to Italy.

In the first phase, one of the two songs of each finalist will be selected through the voting of the audience and the jury.

The song that will be chosen will be the one with which each participant will claim the representation of Israel for Eurovision 2022. Then, the audience and the jury will jointly choose the artist who will represent the country.

The X Factor final will take place on February 5th.
