United Kingdom: Eurovision winner Martin Lee from Brotherhood of Man dies at age 77!
/0 Comments/in Eurostars, Eurovision, United Kingdom/by Fotios NtinosThe Eurovision community has some sad news to share. The 77-year-old British singer and member of Brotherhood of Man, Martin Lee, passed away on Sunday due to heart failure. With the song “Save All Your Kisses For Me” Brotherhood of Man, represented the United Kingdom in the 21st Eurovision Song Contest in 1976. The British group finished in first place with a total of 164 points.
Lee’s bandmates Lee Sheridan, Sandra Stevens and Nicky Stevens shared:
Over the past 50 years the four of us have toured the world together in harmony and have so many happy memories, but now we are in total shock and cannot imagine a world without Martin Lee.
“Save All Your Kisses For Me” and Brotherhood of Man
The definite line-up of the British band was formed in 1973 and consisted of Martin Lee, Lee Sheridan, Sandra Stevens and Nicky Stevens. In the middle to late 1970s, this lineup of the group went on to have numerous international hits, such as “Figaro,” “Oh Boy (The Mood I’m In),” “Kiss Me Kiss Your Baby,” and “Save Your Kisses for Me.” With three number one singles and four top twenty albums, they may have experienced their greatest success in their home country of the UK. The group performed all over Europe, until 2020. They have put out 16 studio albums in total, selling over 15 million copies worldwide.
Their Eurovision winning song, “Save All Your Kisses For Me,” is among the best-selling Eurovision winners ever. Actually, the song became a global hit, peaking at number one on charts across several European nations and enjoying modest success in the US. Furthermore, “Save All Your Kisses For Me” is the most successful winner ever statistically speaking, based on the percentage of points it received up to the maximum amount possible.

Junior Eurovision 2024: Listen to the Cypriot entry!
/0 Comments/in Cyprus, Eurovision, Junior Eurovision 2024/by Fotios NtinosBack in August, RIK announced its return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time after seven years. Meanwhile, the broadcaster also revealed that the eleven year-old Maria Pissarides will represent the island nation in the upcoming 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Madrid, Spain. Just a while ago and during the morning show “Omorfi Mera” on RIK, the Cypriot entry, named “Crystal Waters”, was officially released.
You can listen to “Crystal Waters”, below:
“Crystal Waters”
“Crystal Waters” is written by Sophia Patsalides, the Cypriot representative in Junior Eurovision 2014 and Armin Gilani. The video shooting took place in Cyprus in early September, under the direction of Petros Charalambous. The music video incorporates elements of nature, combining natural landscapes with the musical aesthetic of the song, while the song is influenced by the Cypriot island.
When it comes to the stage performance we will see in November, the artistic direction is taken over by the British creative director Layla Ellison. Also, the dancers that will join Maria on stage were selected through open auditions RIK conducted.
Who is Maria Pissarides?
The eleven-year-old Maria Pissarides will participate in Junior Eurovision 2024, being the nation’s tenth representative in the contest. Maria Pissarides is a singer, actress, and dancer and has also studied music theory at a London-based institution.
Maria exhibited a passion for performance from a very young age, while in her home country of Cyprus. She is an enthusiast of the arts and, although her initial steps were in dancing, over time she is progressing on to musical theatre.
Maria has held leading roles in multiple shows within her community, including an adaptation of Matilda. She also likes to write lyrics and has taken part in the European Radio 2023 song writing and singing competition, achieving third place with her team.
Currently, at 11 years of age, Maria is a full-time student at a performing arts school in the UK and seeks every opportunity to progress and learn new skills. Maria’s favourite day would include watching movies, drawing, playing with her dog, eating chocolate and berries and spending time with her two brothers!
Last night, we also had the chance to host Maria Pissarides in our usual Live Talk on YouTube, where she mentioned that she’s feeling:
[…]very proud and excited! I feel like I’m not only represent Cyprus but also Greece.

Nemo: “I never considered withdrawing from Eurovision. However, I’m still waiting on the EBU to respond to some of the behind-the-scenes happenings”
/0 Comments/in Eurovision, Eurovision 2024, Switzerland/by Timos IliasA few months after handing Switzerland its third Eurovision victory, Nemo talked on their experience on this year’s contest and denied the rumours that wanted them to withdraw just hours before the grand final. They did, however, highlight their dissatisfaction with a number of occurrences connected to the Israeli delegation and said that they are waiting an official response from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Following their absence from the flag parade of the grand final dress rehearsal, rumours circulated that the Greek, Swiss, and Irish contestants were pulling out. There were speculations that the reason for this absence was a disagreement between one of the Israeli delegation members and the artists in question.
However, Nemo denied the rumors that they wanted to consider the scenario of his withdrawal from the contest. More specifically, they stated:
I never considered withdrawing from the final. However, I am still awaiting an official response from the EBU regarding certain events that have taken place behind the scenes.
The organizers have not yet dealt with these incidents.
As an artist, it’s difficult for me to express my position on the matter.

Greece: 31 more artists prepare for ERT’s National Final
/0 Comments/in Eurovision 2025, Greece/by Giannis ArgyriouToday, we present the third part of the list of artists who have confirmed their intention to participate in ERT’s national final for Eurovision 2025. This will likely be the last part of the interested artists’ presentation, as the detailed rules of the national final and the submission process for entries are expected to be announced soon.
Once again, our list includes well-known and established artists, as well as many newcomers who are not as familiar to the public.
Giorgos Giannias needs no introduction. He has carved out his own path in the Greek music industry. His distinctive voice has given us many beloved songs. He told us that he would be very interested in Eurovision, especially with a ballad that has something meaningful to say.

Tasos Xiarcho frequently grabs media attention with his statements. He won J2US, and since then, many have hoped to see him participate in Eurovision. Tasos confirmed both to us and through his social media that he will submit his entry to ERT for the national final.
We previously mentioned Markella in a separate article. We could say she is following in Amanda’s footsteps, as both are based in Norway. However, Markella blends Greek elements into her work.
The Horostalites, who reached the final three of the 2018 national selection, which was never held, informed us that they are back in the studio and are open to submitting their entry to ERT once again.
The list is rounded out by artists who started their careers through talent shows and TikTok, alongside those who have long been active in the music scene. In detail:
