Serbia: 90 songs for the Beovizija 2020

With little increased interest, the songs which sent to the Beovizija 2020, produced by Serbia’s public broadcaster, RTS,  in the process by which Serbia is invited to choose the country’s next entry in the Eurovision 2020 contest.

A total of 90 songs were sent to the channel, compared to 76 from last year’s process, while a special jury of native musicians approved all 90 entries. In the next few days, the panel will listen to all the entries and evaluate them, choosing the best to participate in the Beovizija 2020.

To date, the number of entries in the national final has not been disclosed, nor what form it will take. For history, the 2019 national final consisted of 24 entries in two semifinals. The winner of the 2019 Beovizija was Nevena Božović and the song “Kruna”, which finished 18th in the Grand Final with 89 points.

Serbia: Entries for Beovizija 2020 to be extended until December 9th

Serbia’s Public Broadcaster (RTS) has long announced that its participation in Eurovision 2020 will be selected through a national final, Beovizija! The deadline for submitting applications has already begun. With a previous announcement, RTS extends the deadline to 9 December!

Beovizija, as a method of selecting the country’s participation, was implemented in 2004, 2007-2009 and 2018-2019.

In addition to the general rules applicable to all Eurovision songs, Beovizija candidates must adhere to the following two rules:

a. The lyrics of the songs are written in one of the official languages ​​of the country

b. Foreign composers may participate, however the performer must be a Serbian citizen

The dates of the Beovizija 2020 have not yet been announced.

The winner of the 2019 Beovizija and Serbia’s representative at the Eurovision 2019 was Nevena Božović. She performed “Kruna” on the stage of Tel Aviv and took 18th place.

Serbia: Listen to its song for Junior Eurovision 2019

Serbia’s Public Broadcaster RTS has announced the song by which Darija Vračevic will defend her country’s colors at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The 11-year-old artist will sing the “Podigni glas (Raise Your Voice)”, written by A. Milutinović, L. Vukomanović and Darija herself.

A few months ago, Serbia began searching for the singer and performer to represent the country on the Junior Eurovision stage. Of all the entries had been applied, RTS selected two finalists. Staša Kostadinović with the song Da, da, da (by V. Graić and L. Vukomanović) and the winner Darija Vračević with Podigni glas (by A. Milutinović, L Vukomanović and Darija). Both interpreted their entries in front of a jury composed of Silvana Grujić, Anja Rogljić, Uroš Marković, Jelena Vlahović, Dušan Šukletović, Jovana Dukić and Tamara Petković, who decided the winner.
