Junior Eurovision 2023: The official album has been released!

Three weeks are separating us from this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. While all preparations in Nice are underway, the official album containing all 16 participating entries of the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest has now been released on all streaming platforms.

Following the withdrawal of Serbia and Kazakhstan, the return of Germany and the debut of Estonia, the following 16 countries will be represented at the children’s contest in Nice:

What’s next?

On the 20th of November, the Opening Ceremony will take place. During the opening ceremony, who will perform first and last will be decided. After the end of the ceremony, we will know how the full running order will be decided.

The 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Nice, France on the 26th of November following Lissandro’s win last year in Yerevan.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Details about the Opening Ceremony!

Details about the Junior Eurovision 2023 Opening Ceremony were revealed during a press conference held by France Télévisions.

The Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will take place at the Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais at 19:00 CET on 20 November. The presenters of the ceremony will be Carla Lazzari, who represented France at Junior Eurovision 2019, and Manon Théodet. During the opening ceremony , two places in the running order will be decided. More specifically, the country that will perform first, and the country that will perform last. The rest of the order will be decided by the Junior Eurovision 2023 producers after the end of the ceremony.

Each of the sixteen delegations will speak at the opening ceremony with the journalist Laura Tenoudji and influencer Ophénya. The ceremony will also feature performances by each French Junior Eurovision representative since their return to the contest in 2018, with the singers performing parts of their songs.

The event will be broadcast live in France by France 4 and Okoo, with commentary by Karim Ternane and Julia Gourand.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Listen to Ireland’s song!

With lees than a month to go until the 21st Junior Eurovision contest, the song that will represent Ireland in the contest has just been released.

In early October, the young Jessica McKean won the Irish National Selection for Junior Eurovision, Junior Eurovision Éire 2023. To indicate that the winner was selected by the public audience.

Who is Jessica McKean?

Jessica McKean is ten years old and she was born in a small town named Lifford which is located in North Ireland. Jessica started her journey in music at the age of three when she won the Gaelic Fèis Festival (about art and culture).

The young singer also participated in the Donncha’s Two Talented of RTÉ singing I Love You Honey by Patsy Cline and since then has won many competitions and awards.

Beyond singing, Jessica also engaged in art, crafting, piano lessons, football and gymnastics.

Junior Eurovision: Ticket sale starts today!

Exactly one month from now, the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Nice, France. After Lissandro’s win with “Oh Maman!” in Yerevan, France Télévisions is hosting the contest in Palais Nikaïa.

Excluding Ireland, 15 out of 16 competing songs are already out and the public televisions decided to commence the ticket selling for the contest.

The tickets for the Grand Final, started selling today at 12:00 CET, directly from the website of Palais Nikaïa, and they cost 15€ seated and 20€ standing (including taxes)

The official website of the contest, strongly suggests that you only buy tickets from the authorised seller.

With only a month to go until the 21st Junior Eurovision contest, the song that will represent last year’s host, Armenia in the contest has just been released.

This year, ARMTV selected Yan Girls to represent the country in Junior Eurovision 2023.

Their song is now available and is titled “Do It My Way” composed by tokionine, Vahram Petrosyan (Armenia JESC 2021) and Maléna, the winner of Junior Eurovision 2021.

Who are Yan Girls?

Yan Girls are a girl band featuring Nane, Nensi, Kamilla, Syuzana and Aida.

Inspired by their favourite K-pop artists, the group wants to bring that familiar sound to the Junior Eurovision stage and take it to a whole new level.

Young, colorful, rebellious and poppy, Yan Girls sing about the importance of staying true to yourself, being confident and doing things the best way – their way.

Less than a month ago, Szansa na Sukces, the Polish national selection for Junior Eurovision 2023, took place, crowning the 13 year-old Maja Krzyżewska with her song “I Just Need A Friend” as the winner.

As the Junior Eurovision season is getting busier while we are approaching to the main event, the official video of this year’s Polish act was released via the official Junior Eurovision YouTube channel.

Who is Maja Krzyżewska?

Maja resides in Szeszupka, not far from Suwaki. She is 13 years old and in the sixth grade at her primary school.
She discovered her love of music at the age of four, when her mother pushed her to join a school music club and began learning the piano. Her favorite pastime, aside from singing, is rhythmic gymnastics, and she enjoys new challenges, especially ones that include a dash of adrenaline.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Watch the music video of the Albanian entry!

Almost a month ago, Junior Fest 2023, the Albanian selection process for Junior Eurovision took place. After the decision of a jury panel, Viola Gjyzeli was crowned as the winner with her song “Bota Ime” and will therefore represent the nation in Nice.

Behind Viola’s song, “Bota Ime”, there is a well-known to Eurovision fans lyricist, Eriona Rushiti. Eriona Rushiti has also written Ktheju Tokës (Eurovision 2019 Albania) and Duje (Eurovision 2023 Albania).

The official video of “Bota Ime” was released a while ago via the official Junior Eurovision YouTube channel.

Who is Viola Gjyzeli?

Viola, who was born in Italy to Albanian parents, initially showed her interest for performing at the age of seven, when she entered and won a children’s song contest in her birthplace of Durrës. That first award was only the beginning of the young girl’s journey as she worked towards her dream of becoming a professional singer over the next few years. Except singing, Viola also enjoys playing sports, such as basketball and ping-pong.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Listen to the United Kingdom’s entry!

Eurovision nerds would definitely notice that Junior Eurovision 2023 marks the first edition in Junior Eurovision history that all BIG-FIVE countries will meet on stage.

The United Kingdom is not an exception. In fact, along with Spain, they were the first to represent the “BIG-FIVE” at the children’s contest, debuting in the inaugural contest, in 2003. After an absence of 17 years, the United Kingdom returned in 2022. The great success of Freya last year in Yerevan, who managed to win the online voting, finishing fifth overall, set the bars high for the nation.

Hence, today it was revealed during the “Zoe Ball Breakfast Show” on BBC Radio 2, that STAND UNIQU3 will represent the United Kingdom in Nice with the song “Back To Life“.

The girls consisting  STAND UNIQU3 and their song were both selected internally by BBC Studios Entertainment and Music along with CBBC supporting.

Who are STAND UNIQU3?

The group consists of three girls, Hayla, Maisie and Yazmin, who were brought together by BBC because of their chemistry as a group.

12-year-old Hayla from Liverpool has an interesting family history when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest: her grandfather was a backing dancer for the 1987 UK entry.

Hayla herself is a big fan of Rihanna who she describes as being her biggest inspiration. As well as music, Hayla enjoys football and plays as a striker. Hayla’s ideal day would involve eating chocolate, watching movies and spending time with her brothers.

13-year-old Maisie from Essex loves to sing, dance and act on stage, as well as enjoying clay pigeon shooting with her grandad. She also loves to chill and she collects crystals.

12-year-old Yazmin from Newcastle is no stranger to performing in front of crowds, she enjoys Latin and Ballroom dancing. Yazmin loves cuddling up with her chihuahua Tinkerbell, writing stories, and shopping.

Back in late September, France Télévisions, the French national broadcaster and this year’s host broadcaster, announced that the 13 year-old Zoé Clauzure will represent the country on home ground. France selected, as usual, its Junior Eurovision act via an internal selection.

Just a while ago, the official music video of “Cœur“, the French entry for Junior Eurovision 2023, was released.

Who is Zoé?

Zoé Clauzure is a French singer who rose to fame as a contestant on The Voice Kids in 2020, where she reached the semi-finals. She’s already collaborated with Amir (France 2016) and French singer-songwriter Yseult.

Zoé is also a skilled songwriter who writes lyrics and chords in a notebook, composes with Logic Pro software, and records her piano covers for sharing on social media.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Listen to Estonia’s entry!

Back in August, it was revealed that Estonia will make its debut in Junior Eurovision 2023. No one expected the debut of the Baltic country, since the rest of the Baltic countries have been absent from the contest for many years.

The same time that Estonia’s debut was announced, it was also revealed by ERR that the country’s first representative will be ARHANNA.

Today, ARHANNA’s entry “Hoiame Kokku” was released. “Hoiame Kokku“was written by Arhanna Sandra Arbma herself along with Karl-Ander Reismann, Rael Laikre and Leelo Tungal.

Who is ARHANNA?

Arhanna Sandra Arbma was born and raised in the city of Räpina and has been taking singing and music lessons since she was 5 years old.

She has also participated in numerous competitions, one of which was the ETV produced “Tähtede lava” in 2022, where she was crowned as the winner.
