It is now official. GPB confirmed that the eleven-year-old Andria Putkaradze will represent the country in Junior Eurovision 2024.
Andria Putkaradze was declared officially as the Georgian representative one month following Georgia’s participation announcement and two months following the conclusion of Ranina 2024, the national selection process for Junior Eurovision.
How was Andria selected?
Andria Putkaradze competed along with two other young artists in the final of Ranina 2024. Specifically, the artists competing in Ranina 2024 were the following:
- Sandro Gurgenadze
- Barbare Morgoshia
- Andria Putkaradze
All three artists performed covers of patriotic songs composed by Gogi Dolidze, as the day of Ranina’s final collided with the Georgian Independence Day.
The winner was crowned after the decision of a three member professional jury who selected the Georgian representative based on four criteria: vocals, performance, artistry and collaboration. Meanwhile the exact result has not yet been revealed.
Andria Putkaradze is the successor of Anastasia and Ranina, who represented Georgia last year with their song “Over The Sky”.
The 22nd edition of Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on November 16 in Madrid, Spain, following the country’s second-place finish last year and the refusal of the winning country, France, to host for the second year in a row.
