Albania: The revamp of “Zemrën N’dorë” will be released on March 11th!

Besa Kokëdhima, the Albanian representative in Eurovision 2024, revealed on her personal Instagram account that the new revamped version of “Zemrën N’dorë” will be released on March 11th. In fact, the release date of her entry’s revamped version is written on her Instagram bio:

The revamped version of “Zemrën N’dorë” will be sung fully in English, as Besa has mentioned before. The reason behind the language change according to Besa Kokëdhmia is:

To better convey the message of the song we decided to have it all in English. The song has evolved and I want everyone to understand the message! I know it’s a risk to change the language but what could go wrong?

Besa Kokëdhima won the Albanian national selection for Eurovision 2024, namely FiK, in December, exclusively by the vote of the audience, as she was not the jury’s pick. We remind you that Besa Kokëdhima will perform at the first half of the second semi-final on May 9.

Albania: Listen to the English demo version of “Zemrën n’dorë”!

The greatest music festival in Albania, the Festivali i Këngës, was completed a few days ago, with Besa Kokëdhima, being the new representative of the country in Eurovision!

Besa, won the public vote, and thus the Albanian representation in Eurovision, with the song “Zemrën n’dorë”, however, it still remains unknown whether the final version that will be performed will remain the same, as the country is used to doing major revamps to their songs.

For a few hours now, a version of the song containing both Albanian and English lyrics, was leaked online, with fans speculating that Besa will sing this version on the Eurovision stage:

Besa has previously said in an interview, that “Zemrën n’dorë”, was initally, exclusively in English, which means that there is already an English version of the song ready, in case the singer decides that she will make this great change for Eurovision.

Do you think that an English version of “Zemrën n’dorë”, would be more suitable for the Eurovision Song Contest?

Last year’s winners of the public vote were Albina & Familja Kelmendi with their song “Duje”, gaining the right to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. Albina & Familja Kelmendi brought their country back to the Grand Final, finishing tenth in the public vote and twenty-second overall.

Albania: Eleven jurors will determine the winner of Festivali i Këngës 62!

The artistic director of Festivali i Këngës 62, Bojken Lako, Krisa Çaushi, the host of Festivali i Këngës and Gridi Kraja, the dirctor of the symphonic orchestra of the festival, all appeared in the TV show “E diela jonë”, with Ermal Peçitand revealed new information on the upcoming Albanian music festival.

They promised the public, a Festival with songs that will not be forgotten by the public and TV elements that will make the four magical nights in December, even more favourable.

They also spoke on Kejsi Tola’s, Samanta Karavella’s and Sardi Strugaj’s withdrawal. Ermal Peçitasked whether there is a rule that forbids the staging as Samanta Karavella said, and Bojken Lako answered:

Attracting artists is something personal. The regulations have been even stricter this year. Unlike other years, this year we have allowed up to 2 performers on stage. The other reasons are completely personal. This year we will have 6 awards. I do not give importance to the show, but to the music and the orchestra. We want to give importance to the text and the music. “

Ermal Peçit also asked them on the online rumours that want Elsa Lila as the winner of the festival. Gridi Kraja and Bojken Lako stated the following:

“The singers themselves release the rumours.”

The jury has 11 members. How can all the jury members agree in advance on the winner? The rumors are just news for portals to click on.

After the above interview, we can say, as we’ve previously mentioned in an article, that Albania wants to return to Eurovision with strong ballad, giving more attention to the voice and the feelings, unlike their two previous entries.

Albania: The public will choose the 2024 Eurovision representative, while the jury the winner of Festivali i Këngës 62!

A while ago the RTSH press conference for the Festivali i Këngës 62 that is going to take place in December was concluded and we learned some very interesting things!

The first and most important change is the method of selecting the winner. Some time ago we learned that the audience and the committee will choose together the winner of the festival, and at the same time the representative of Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. However, at the press conference, it was mentioned that the system will remain the same as last year. This means that the jury of the festival will choose the winner of Festivali i Këngës 62 and the TV audience the representative of the country. The two winners may not be the same, as happened last year when the winner of Festivali i Këngës was Elsa Lila, while the representatives of the country were Albina & Familja Kelmendi.

Then it was mentioned that on the third day, the “big” artists will perform with singers who no longer participate, while the “new” artists will sing in a duet, a song from Eurovision. The finalists will be announced after the end of the third night. Last but not least, one of the presenters of this year’s Festivali i Këngës will be Andriana Matoshi.

Withrdawals after the press conference

After the end of the press conference and the announcement of the regulations, two singers decided to withdraw from Festivali i Këngës 62. These two artist were Samanta and Kejsi Tola, who will be replaced by Irma Lepuri and the PeterPan Quartet respectively .

Festivali i Këngës 62 is expected to take place around the end of December and will include 27 artists, 14 in the “big” category and 13 newcomers.
