Denmark: DMGP 2024 line up!

A few hours ago, Danish broadcaster DR announced the line-up for the grand final, DMGP 2024.

The order of appearance of the eight artists who will compete in the DMGP 2024 Grand Final is:

  1. Saba – “Sand”
  2. Stella  – “Sign Here”
  3. ChuChu – “The Chase (Zoom Zoom)”
  4. Basim – “Johnny”
  5. RoseeLu – “Real Love”
  6. Ublu – Planetary Hearts”
  7. Janus Wiberg – “I Need Your Love”
  8. Aura Dione – “Mirrorball of Hope”

During the grand finale, the eight competing songs will be narrowed down to three, after viewer votes. The three artists who will remain enter a new vote, by the TV audience and also by the jury. The jury’s vote and the viewers’ vote will have equal weight and will ultimately decide the song that will represent Denmark in Malmo in May.

We remind you that the Danish national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2024 will take place on February 17, 2024.

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be hosted by Stéphanie Surrugue and Sara Bro.

Despite not being the public’s choice, Reiley won the ticket to Liverpool in 2023. He performed his song ‘Breaking My Heart’ in the second semi-final, failing to qualify.

Denmark: Opens Song Submissions for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2023!

Danish national broadcaster DR, confirmed the country’s participation at Eurovision 2023 by announcing the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2023 National Final.

Eight songs will compete at the national selection process, while song submissions start from today, September 8th, until the afternoon of October 28th.

The rules are the following:

  • At least one composer, songwriter or singer should be a Danish citizen or somehow be associated with Denmark e.g. residing in Denmark or be married with someone Danish.
  • Feroe Islands and Greenland citizens will also be eligible for participating.
  • All the songs must be original and should not have been played publicly or be available in the internet.
  • The composers and songwriters can submit mutiple participations.
  • The lyrics should not have political messages, swear words or other forms of explicit language.
  • All the songs that meet the Contest’s criteria will be reviewed from a professional jury established by DR. The decision for the final selection cannot be doubted in any way.
  • Until DR reveals the song titles and the creators from the selected participations, the ones involved are not allowed to reveal any details regarding their participation.
  • All the vocals must be performed live during the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix final.
  • The greatest rule change is that in past editions, the participants should have been at least 16 years old during the DMGP final. Now, they should be 16 years old until the ESC final.

The national final’s date is not announced yet.

In Eurovision 2022 Denmark was represented by Reddi with the song “The Show” and finished 13th at the First Semi-Final.

Denmark: Listen to the entries of DMGP 2022!

Danish public television, DR, has revealed the finalists of DMGP 2022, the Danish national final for Eurovision 2022.

The eight candidates for DMGP 2022 are :

  1. Morten Fillipsen – Happy Go Lucky
  2. Fuld Effekt – Rave Med De Hårde Drenge
  3. Patrick Dorgan – Vinden Suser Ind
  4. REDDI – The Show
  5. Der Var Engang – En skønne dag
  6. Confessions – Hallelujah
  7. Josie Elinor & Jack Warren – Let Me Go
  8. Juncker – Kommet for at blive

All the competing songs are set to be released later today on DR’s website and are already available on streaming services.

Danish Public Television (DR) will host DMGP 2022 on Saturday 5 March at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Henrig, with 8 finalists. Presenters of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be Tina Müller and Martin Brygmann for the second consecutive year.

This will be the sixth edition of the competition to be held at Herning and the third to be held at Jyske Bank Boxen. For the first time in two years, live audiences will be able to watch the competition and tickets are already on sale.
