Greece: Is “ZARI” the title of Marina Satti’s Eurovision 2024 entry?

A lot of information emerged today regarding the Greek entry at the upcoming 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. According to what the reporter Yannis Poulopoulos revealed a while ago on the morning show Super Katerina, the song with which Marina Satti will represent Greece in the competition has the title “Zari” and is a composition of OGE, herself as well as of other creators. Zari (written in Greek as Ζάρι) is the greek word for dice.

In the video below you can see a part of the Greek TV show:

Yiannis Poulopoulos also showed footage from the filming of the video clip which is taking place at this moment, on the Holy Rock of the Acropolis, while in these footage we also saw Fokas Evangelinos, confirming what you first read through our website, that he will be the artistic director of Greece’s participation in Eurovision 2024. (read more here)

In the footage broadcast by the show, Marina Satti is holding the Greek flag, on top of the Acropolis with the Greek antiquities in the background, while as we understand she has the status of a tour guide. All this, of course, for the needs of the video clip, which, as we have already informed you, has a lot of exterior filming.

Finally, according to what was said on the show, “Zari” will contain mainly Greek lyrics, while the use of some minimal English lyrics is being considered, so that the message of the song to be conveyed easier to the international audience of Eurovision. It was confirmed once again that the zournas is the musical instrument that characterizes the song.

Finland: The public broadcaster does not think Windows95man needs to change his name!

A few days ago, the national final of Finland took place, and the country has its representative for Eurovision 2024. The winner of UMK, was Windows95man with the song, “No Rules”.

Despite the Finnish people being happy with this choice, right after his win, many thought that the singer might needs to change his name and his clothing style for Eurovision, as product names and trademarks are not allowed on Eurovision stage. It is also strictly forbidden to mention an established brand name in your entry. In Finland’s case, the duo’s name is “Windows95Man” and their attire consists of a large “Windows” logo, Microsoft’s operating system.

However earlier today, Yle, the public broadcaster of the country, states in an article that there is a chance Windows95man, won’t need to change his name, and the explain why. In detail, Ansii Autio, one of UMK’s chief producers, states:

“Keister’s clothes don’t have the logo of Windows, but specifically the more than 28-year-old Windows 95 logo. Technical support for the operating system in question was discontinued in 2001.”

He also says that this was the reason he was accepted in UMK in the first place, because “Windows 95” has not been a protected trademark for a long time. In anh case, the EBU, may be more strict on this matter

The UMK team, new right from the start that the EBU, might not accept Windows95man, and they have already gone ahead and found many different ways to solve this problem, with the help of lawyers, so that they can be in accordance with the rules.

“There are so many alternatives that it is pointless to go through them at this point. We’re going to Eurovision as we are now, and if it’s not necessary, we will not change anything.”

One thing that’s for sure, is that in the coming month, we will know whether Windows95man will represent Finland in Eurovision 2024, or if it will be under a new name.

We reminf you that Finland, takes part in the second half, of the first semi-final of Eurovision 2024, in May 7:

San Marino: Listen to the four songs of the finalists of Casperaki!

As we have already informed you in a previous article, the Sanmarinese broadcaster RTV decided to join forces with the Casperaki startup in order to produce songs with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The song produced with the aforementioned process would be chosen by an artist and ultimately, compete to Una Voce per San Marino 2024, San Marino’s national selection.

Today, Casperaki unveiled the four predominant songs:

These artists will fight for a ticket for the final of Una Voce per San Marino 2024, in order to compete with other seven finalists and one of them, will fly the country’s flag on the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

We remind you that the final of Una Voce per San Marino 2024 is set to take place on February 24th at Teatro Nuovo in Dogana. A total of 16-20 artists will participate in the final and 8-12 of them will come from the category of “emerging artists”, while the remaining eight will be chosen from the broadcaster, RTV, under the category of “established artists”. Moreover, Al Bano will be the president of the jury during the final.

Piqued Jacks, last year’s Una Voce per San Marino winners, did not manage to qualify to the Grand Final of Eurovision 2023 and ended up at the very last place of the Semi Final with zero points.

Georgia: Nutsa Buzaladze in Darko Dimitrov’s studio!

Through a post on her personal Instagram account, the singer and songwriter, Ada Verdi, revealed that she is currently in the studio with the well-known composer Darko Dimitrov, but also the representative of Georgia in this year’s Eurovision, Nutsa Buzaladze.

As many expect, this meeting has something to do with Nutsa’s entry for Eurovision 2024!

Darko & Nutsa

Darko & Nutsa

Who is Darko Dimitrov;

Darko Dimitrov is a legend in Eurovision, who has managed to promote Balkan music, like no one else!

He was born in January 21, 1973, in Skopje, Yugoslavia (today’s North Macedonia), and is the son of the awarded musician and composer Slave Dimitrov. His family has a great history in music, with his grandfather, Blagoja Petrov Karagjule, being a famous tenor but also singer of traditional music. Darko graduated from Skopje’s music academy and is still working in the studio he made with his father and brother named “Studio Dimitrovi”.

His songs have competed in several music festivals, like Skopje FestMakFestOhrid FestSunčane Skale, Budva Music Festival in Montenegro, FERAS Radio Festival in Serbia, Croatian Radio Festival, Split Festival in Croatia, Pamukkale Festival Turkey, the Golden Stag in Romania, as well as Kënga Magjike in Albania!

How will Nutsa Buzaladze’s song be selected?

We remind you that over 300 songs were submitted for Nutsa Buzaladze‘s Eurovision entry, the most of which are signed by international songwriters. Although the process of assessing the nominated songs has commenced, an obvious favourite is not yet apparent. Nutsa herself will evaluate the submissions and she will ultimately decide which song she will perform in Malmö.

The information above confirms the exclusive information we revealed a few days ago, which stated that several well-known composers—mostly from abroad—submitted their proposals to Georgian public television.

In detail, many prominent musicians, including some that have previously participated in Eurovision or national finals, mainly in Northern Europe, have sent in proposals. Their submissions contain a variety of intriguing songs, including dance tracks. Furthermore, Nutsa Buzaladze has disclosed her preference openly, saying that she wants to make people dance.

Since Georgia hasn’t been to the grand final of Eurovision since 2016, the public’s hopes have increased upon learning that Nutsa Buzaladze will represent the country in 2024. Furthermore, the country has now moved up in the betting odds, reaching as high as the 8th place.

Welcome back Eurovision fans to the world of Sanremo for the fifth and final time for this year. The 74th Festival di Sanremo, or the Italian Song Festival, one of the most beloved festivals of the whole world has reached the Fifth or La Quinta Serata, the last Night, the one that is going to define the winner of this year’s Festival and the possible entrant for Italy in Eurovision Song Contest 2024, since the winners will earn the well known “right of first refusal”, meaning the right to represent Italy only if they wish to do so.

Live from the coastal town of Sanremo, in Liguria, Teatro Ariston opened for one more and last time its gates and welcomed everyone around the world to celebrate, to feel and to dance to the Italian music. Tonight all of the thirty (30) entrants performed once more their songs, just like they did during the First Night, and were judged only by the public during the Night’s first round of voting at least, since during the second and final voting round a sum of televoting and the two juries was held and determined the winner. That specific result was of course added up to the results obtained that far, from all the previous Nights. Ultimately, towards the end of the Night a second and final voting round among the public, the jury of the press and the jury of the radio was held.

Only the top five performaces qualified for the second round or the Super Final. The second voting round began among only those top five artists from the first round; during their recap of their songs the lines opened once more, so the public could vote one last time. During that time, the final result, thus the Festival’s winner as well, was determined by a voting split system among the public again, holding the 34%, the jury of the press TV and web, holding the 33% and the jury of the radio holding the rest 33%. Thus, the Festival’s very final top five was the following:

  1. Angelina Mango – “La noia”
  2. Geolier – “I p’me, tu p’te”
  3. Annalisa – “Sinceramente”
  4. Ghali – “Casa mia”
  5. Irama – “Tu no”

Of course this means that the official winner of the Festival di Sanremo 2024 and Marco Mengoni’s successor is Angelina Mango with her song “La noia”.

The only thing that remains to see is whether will accept to represent Italy in Eurovision Song Contest 2024, in Malmö or not and if he/she does so, with which song of his/hers.
