Portugal has started the search for its representative and entry for Eurovision 2024. The Festival da Canção 2024, as the country’s public television channel calls the process, consists of two semi-finals and a final. The second semi-final was completed a few minutes ago, with six contestants advancing to the next stage of the final.

The presenters of the evening were Tânia Ribas de Oliveira, José Carlos Malato and Inês Lopes Gonçalves.

The jury consisted of seven music professionals:

• Gisela João – singer
• Benjamim – musician
• Lia Pereira – journalist
• Miguel Esteves Cardoso – songwriter
• Lura – singer
• Pedro Oliveira – musician
• Mimicat – Representative of Portugal Eurovision 2023

The ten songs that claimed the six tickets for the grand final were:

• Buba Espinho – “O Farol” 

• Cristina Clara – “Primavera” 

• Léo Middea – “Doce Mistério”

• Filipa – “You Can’t Hide” 

• João Couto – “Quarto Para Um”

• Huca – “Pé De Choro” 

• No Maka ft Ana Maria – “Aceitar” 

• Maria João – “Dia”

• Rita Onofre – “Criatura” 

• Silk Nobre – “Change”

The results:

The five finalists were determined 50% by the jury and 50% by the TV audience. In the second round, one more artist made it to the final by the TV audience alone. The exact ranking of the artists by both the jury and the audience was not announced at the end of the evening. The detailed results will be made public after the end of the festival.

The six artists who have qualified for the final of Festival da Canção 2024 are:

• Buba Espinho – “O Farol” 
• No Maka ft Ana Maria – “Aceitar” 
• Léo Middea – “Doce Mistério”
• Silk Nobre – “Change”
• Cristina Clara – “Primavera” 
• Rita Onofre – “Criatura”  (Only from the TV audience)

So the 12 artists we will see in the final of Festival da Canção 2024 are:

1. Rita Rocha – “Pontos Finais”
2. Nena – “Teorias da Conspiração” 
3. Perpétua – “Bem Longe Daqui” 
4. Iolanda – “Grito” 
5. João Borsch – “Pelas Costuras” 
6. Noble – “Memory” 
7. Buba Espinho – “O Farol” 
8. No Maka ft Ana Maria – “Aceitar” 
9. Léo Middea – “Doce Mistério”
10. Silk Nobre – “Change”
11. Cristina Clara – “Primavera” 
12. Rita Onofre – “Criatura”
