Latvia: Citi Zēni are back for Supernova 2025!
The submission deadline for Supernova 2025 has passed and we have the first news about who is competing to represent Latvia in Eurovision 2025.
Among the artists that submitted an entry, we have Citi Zēni, who represented the country at Eurovision 2022. The group performed “Eat Your Salad” in Turin’s first Semifinal of Eurovision. They finished in 14th place with 55 points and therefore, could not advance to the final.
The band is prepared for their return and is excited about their return to the competition, as reflected by their most recent post on their official account on X.

Supernova 2025- what is coming next?
For Supernova 2025 only singers and bands with Latvian citizenship could participate. However, authors from other nationalities could submit their songs if the number of foreign authors did not exceed nationals.
Now that the deadline for submission is over a jury will evaluate the originality, orchestration, messages, and relevance of the songs, on the current music scene. They will also evaluate the vocal abilities of the performers, how competitive they are in the international pop music market, previous achievements in the music industry, and their opportunities for future success.
Participants who move to the next round of Supernova 2025 will be announced in November. The Supernova 2025 final will take place in February.
Dons was the representative of Latvia in Eurovision 2024, with the song “Hollow”. He finished in 16th place during the night of the Final bringing the country back to the final for the first time since 2016:
