Serbia: Tonight the Grand Final of Pesma za Evroviziju 24!

With less than two weeks to go until the finale of the national finals for Eurovision 2024, Serbia is completing the process of choosing its representative for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest. In a few hours from now, the final of Pesma za Evroviziju 24 will take place in Belgrade.

Format

Pesma za Evroviziju 24 includes three shows, two semi-finals and the grand final on 2 March, from which Serbia’ s representative in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen.

According to the rules of the Serbian national final, fourteen artists participated in each of the two semi-finals, with eight qualifying for the final. This means that sixteen artists will compete on March 2 in the grand final of the Serbian national selection.

The Serbian public and the jury will jointly (50/50) decide on the artist who will represent Serbia in Malmö.

Presenters of Pesma za Evroviziju 24 will be Dragana Kosjerina and Slaven Došlo. Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović will be in the green room for the third year in a row.

The winner of the Serbian national final for 2023 and therefore the country’s representative in Liverpool was Luke Black with the song “Samo mi se spava”, finishing in twenty-fourth place.

Serbia: 1,265,000 viewers watched the second semi-final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024!

Yesterday, the second semi-final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 in Serbia was the most watched programme in prime time at 22:00. With the three-hour broadcast on the RTS channel, it was watched by more than 1,265,000 viewers.

Eight artists, 50% of which were determined by the jury and 50% by the TV audience, qualified for the final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024:

The grand final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 will take place on March 02 at 22:00 GMT.

In the grand final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 the following artists will participate:

Serbia: Watch Teya Dora’s music video, “Ramonda”!

Today Teya Dora’s video clip of the song “Ramonda” was released and also the updated version of the song. Teya Dora is one of the 16 artists who will participate in the final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 and one of the favourites to represent Serbia at Eurovision 2024.

Teya Dora had announced that in the semi-final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 we will hear the revamped version of her song “Ramonda”.

Serbia will compete in the first semi-final on 07 May and will perform in the first half of the show.

Serbia: Pesma Za Evroviziju ’24 songs will be released on January 25!

Just a short while ago, the Serbian broadcaster RTS announced that the songs that will be competing in Pesma Za Evroviziju ’24, the country’s national final for Eurovision 2024, will be unveiled on January 25.

Pesma Za Evroviziju ’24 was discussed by Nenad Pribak, the chairman of OGAE Serbia, and Srđan Mladenović from RTS’s Corporate Image and Public Relations Department in a recent, slightly different episode of the RTS Eurovision Story podcast.

Srđan Mladenović announced that the festival is well underway and that all songs will be released on various music platforms and the official YouTube channel “RTS Eurovision Song” on January 25. The semi-final artist lineup will be revealed at the same time. The top eight performers from each semi-final advance to the final, with a total of 14 artists competing in both rounds.

A modification to the public voting announcement method for Pesma Za Evroviziju ’24 was also disclosed via the podcast:

We’re also going to alter how the votes are announced in the final this year. Thus, this year’s vote announcement will follow the Eurovision concept, stated Srđan Mladenović.

He went on to say that the jury’s point total would match the public’s point total and that the announcement process will follow the same guidelines as the Eurovision Song Contest.

It’s a technical process. It’s not something we didn’t want to do. It’s something that has to be implemented from start to finish, and now we’re ready for it.

PZE2024’s semi-finals are scheduled for February 27 and 29, while the grand final is scheduled for Saturday, March 2. The following acts are set to perform at Pesma Za Evroviziju ’24:

Luke Black represented Serbia at the Liverpool after  winning the 2023 national final with the song “Samo mi se spava”. He placed twenty-fourth overall.

Serbia: record submissions for Pesma za Evroviziju ’24!

Serbia has received a record number of entries willing to participate in the national final Pesma za Evroviziju ’24.  Former head of the entertainment programme at RTS and creative supervisor for Eurovision, Ms. Olivera Kovačević  made this revelation in the podcast Evrovizijske priče.

During the podcast, she revealed the increased interest for the national final:

“We received around 235 compositions. Last year there were around 185. We received almost 50 more compositions and authors than last year. From year to year there has been more interest and I can say this includes people with amateur recordings to top professionals, to young gifted, to people with a successful career,”

However, she said that at this stage she can not reveal who are the artists that are in the competition.  The Selection Committee will listen to all the entries on December 11.  In the coming days we will  get to know the names of the competitors for Pesma za Evroviziju ’24.

RTS is still evaluating the exact number of candidates but there will be somewhere between 30 to 34 songs in the competition.  We will get the final list before new year.

The preliminary dates for Pesma za Evroviziju ‘24 are February 27 and 29 for the Semifinals with the final taking place on March 02, 2024.

Lukek Black represented Serbia in Liverpool.  He ended in 24th place in the Grand Final.
