Italy: The first betting odds for Sanremo 2025!
Yesterday, Carlo Conti revealed the list of thirty artists who will compete in the prestigious big category of the 75th edition of the Festival di Sanremo. This diverse and star-studded lineup represents a broad spectrum of the Italian music scene and will perform on Italy’s most renowned musical stage, competing for the coveted Golden Lion.
As the names of the artists were announced, early betting odds have already begun to shape a picture of who might take home the top prize, even at this early stage of the competition.
Elodie leading the betting odds
Currently leading the betting odds is Elodie, who is widely regarded as the front-runner to win the Golden Lion. At the height of her career, Elodie has built a strong and dedicated fan base, and this will mark her fourth appearance at the festival. With her stellar voice and established track record, she is aiming to finally secure a spot on the podium after previously competing in 2017, 2020, and 2023.
In second place in the betting odds is Giorgia, one of Italy’s most renowned female artists with numerous chart-topping hits throughout her career. Giorgia, a four-time Sanremo participant (1995, 1996, 2001, 2023), is no stranger to success at the festival. She won the competition in 1995 with her song Come Saprei, a victory that remains a significant milestone in her career.
In third place is Achille Lauro, who returns to Sanremo for the third time after competing in 2019 and 2022. In 2022, after his Sanremo performance, Achille went on to win UVPSM, representing San Marino at Eurovision 2022. His loyal following make him a strong contender once again.
Other former Eurovision stars are also in the running, with Francesco Gabbani sitting in 7th place and Francesca Michielin at 12th. As it stands, the full betting odds are shaping up as follows:
It is essential to remember that the betting odds at this stage are based purely on the artists’ names and the initial impressions their participation has left on the Italian public. Since the official songs for the competition have yet to be released, these odds are likely to change as the festival progresses. Historically, betting odds at this stage have not always accurately predicted the outcome, as the songs themselves play a significant role in swaying both public opinion and the jury’s votes. In fact, it is not uncommon for an artist who initially receives little attention to emerge as the winner based on their performance.

Italian representation in Eurovision 2025
If any of the 24 competitors (along with their respective record labels) want to compete in Eurovision 2025, they must complete a special form by the beginning of the festival’s final night on Saturday, February 15.
If the Sanremo 2025 winner has previously signed the interest form, he will be automatically considered Italy’s representative in the Eurovision 2025. Should he decide not to compete in Eurovision 2025, the festival’s organizing committee will select an artist from among those who have signed the interest form based on its own standards, which may or may not include the final score ranking.
Although originally scheduled from February 4 to February 8, eventually the festival was postponed, a week later. Therefore, it will take place from February 11 to February 15 in the small Ligurian town.
The winner of Sanremo’s Music Festival in 2024 was the debutant Angelina Mango with her song “La Noia“, who ultimately gained the right to represent Italy in Eurovision 2024, placing seventh in the Grand Final.
