Norway: Grand Final of MGP 2022 tonight!

It was January 15 when the Melodi Grand Prix 2022 started. Just over a month later, the process of selecting Norway’s representative at Eurovision 2022 comes to an end. The grand final of MGP 2022 takes place tonight.

Format

Melodi Grand Prix 2022 consists of six shows: four semifinals, a second chance round and the grand final, from which the representative of the Scandinavian country in the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will emerge. Four artists participated in each semifinal, with the first of them in the ranking advancing to the final.

Those eliminated from the semifinals (three from each) took part in the second chance round. Through the public voting that was based on the performances of the semifinals, the four most popular non-qualifiers competed for the fifth ticket that leads to the grand final of MGP 2022.

After five shows we have reached the night of the grand final, in which a total of ten artists will participate: the four winners of the semifinals, the winner of the second chance round and the five direct finalists.

Final

Ten artists are participating in tonight’s final of MGP 2022. These artists are:

Initially, the four songs with the most votes will pass. Then from scratch the public will vote again. This time the two songs with the most votes will qualify for the gold final. There again the vote will be zero and the public will be asked to choose between these two, the representative of Norway in Eurovision 2022.
Presenters of the evening will be Kåre Magnus Bergh, Annika Momrak and Mikkel Niva.
