Portugal: Festival da Canção 2023 composers revealed!
RTP, the national broadcaster of Portugal, has revealed the composers who will take part in Festival da Canção 2023 .
As announced, RTP out of 20 composers invited 16, the remaining four were selected through a public submission open to the public between September 2 and October 21.
A few days ago, one of the invited composers had a personal event that prevented him from being present at the Festival da Canção 2023. Thus, RTP decided to accept five instead of four applications from the public song submission.
Composers competing are:

- Barbara Tinoco
- Churky
- Cláudia Pascoal
- Dapunksportif
- Edmundo Inácio (public submission)
- Inês Apenas (public submission)
- Ivandro
- Jacinta
- Mimicat (public submission)
- MOYAH (public submission)
- NEOH SOHO
- Quim Albergaria
- SAL
- Teresinha Landeiro
- The Happy Mess
- Voodoo Marmalade (public submission)
- You Can’t Win Charlie Brown
Cláudia Pascoal previously represented Portugal at Eurovision 2018 with the song “O jardim”.
Τhe final of Festival da Canção will take place on March 11. Τhere will be two semi-finals before the grand final, likely to take place on Febraury 25 and March 4.
MARO represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy with the song “Saudade, saudade” . She received 207 points and finished in 9th place.
