Estonia: Eesti Laul 2024 Semi-Final Tonight!

Estonia has embarked on its journey to select its representative for Eurovision 2024, officially commencing Eesti Laul 2024 tonight. Once again, the Baltic nation chooses to utilize Eesti Laul as the method for selecting its Eurovision contender.

Format Changes

The organizers of the Estonian public broadcaster have decided to implement changes in the format of Eesti Laul for another year. Consequently, this year’s edition of the Estonian national final will unfold across two nights, one for the semi-final and one for the grand final on February 17.

In the Eesti Laul 2024 semi-final, 15 participants will compete, with five advancing to the grand final. These five artists will join five others who have already secured direct entry into this year’s Eesti Laul grand final.

However, the voting format for Eesti Laul remains the same. The semi-final will undergo two rounds of voting. In the first round, the audience and a jury collectively contribute to the results, determining the first finalists. The second round relies solely on the Estonian public’s vote, finalizing the selection of entries to complete this year’s Eesti Laul.

Grand Finalists

Five artists have already secured direct entry into the grand final on February 17:

  2. Daniel Levi “Over The Moon”
  3. Nele-Liss Vaiksoo “Kate Umber Jaa”
  4.  Carlos Ukareda“Never Growing Up”
  5. Uudo Sepp, Sarah Murray“Still love” 

Semi-Finalists

Tonight, 15 artists will compete for the last five tickets to Eesti Laul 2024 Grand Final. The participants are:

  2. Inga – “No Dog On a Leash”
  3. Ollie – “My Friend”
  4. Yonna  – “I Don’t Know About You”
  5. Peter Põder “Korra veel”
  6. Multikas, Ewert Sundja – “Oblivion” 
  7. Traffic – “Wunderbar” 
  8. Ingmar –“Dreaming”
  9. Anet Vaikmaa – “Serotoniin” 
  10. Laura – “Here’s Where I Draw the Line”
  11. Sofia Rubina – “Be Good”
  12. Antsud – “Vetevaim”
  13. Silver Jusilo – “Lately”
  14. Cecilia –“FOMO”
  15. Ewert and The Two Dragons – “Hold Me Now”

The hosts for this year’s Eesti Laul are Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld.

Alika, winner of Eesti Laul 2023, represented Estonia at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Bridges” and secured the nation’s best result since 2018 by finishing in 8th place.
