Greece: ERT’s Eurovision 2024 participation fee!

Earlier today, official data regarding Greece’s Eurovision 2024 participation fee, which amounts to 176,647.20 euros, was made public through Diavgeia.

The amount, which was approved by the Board of Directors of ERT on Monday, January 22, is slightly reduced compared to last year, when the corresponding fee reached 184,014 euros.

Each participating country’s share of this sum varies, and it is determined by a number of quantitative factors, including population. Actually, the Big 5—the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany—are the countries that pay the highest costs, and as such, they are eligible to qualify automatically for the grand final.

It is important to note that this sum only corresponds to the participation fee that the national public broadcasters must pay to the EBU. It does not account for other expenses associated with the event, such as the stage performance, booth rental fees for commentators, travel expenses, or lodging for the Greek delegation.

Last year ERT’s total budget for the Eurovision contest amounted to approximately 500,000 euros.
