Poland: More than 50 songs submitted to TVP for Eurovision 2024!
On January 9, TVP, the Polish public broadcaster announced that the country’s representative for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, will be selected through an internal selection, while on the same time allowing everyone interested, to submit their songs, until February 2.
As we’ve previously informed you, the intereste of the artists as well as their respective recording labels is really high, as everyone wants to take part in the greatest song contest in the world.
As of now, more than 50 songs have been submitted to the Polish broadcaster, while this number is expected to go even higher, until the end of the deadline.
The procedure
To participate in the preselection, applicants must be over 16 years old and have Polish citizenship. The submitted songs should not exceed 3 minutes in length and, at the same time, should have been published after 1 September, as stipulated in the official regulations of the Eurovision Song Contest.
As stated in the regulations of the Polish national selection, it is important that entries must not contain discriminatory content against any social group, in line with Eurovision’s commitment to promote culture, diversity and universal values.
Selection method
The selection process involves a panel that will evaluate the songs on the basis of specific criteria. Interested participants must respect the guidelines outlined in the regulations, including age restrictions, nationality requirements and the originality of the submitted work.
Would-be entrants may submit their applications online, including a completed entry form, signed rules and related materials. A five-person jury will then evaluate each entry, awarding points on a scale of 1 to 10 based on quality. The entry with the highest marks will secure the coveted place of Poland’s representative at Eurovision 2024.
It is worth clarifying that the date of the announcement of the Polish representative in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest is not mentioned in the rules published by TVP.
