San Marino: A songwriting camp for the AI – generated entries!

A songwriting camp will be held in collaboration with the Casperaki tech company aiming at producing an entry for Una Voce Per San Marino 2024.

Following a call for people to create songs via special chatbots developed by Casperaki, SMRTV has apparently confirmed that ten songs have been selected for a songwriting camp in London from 18 to 21 January.

The camp will be led by producers TommyD and Stefan Moessle, who will work with a number of songwriters, producers and artists to finalize the ten entries. One of the artists who have confirmed their involvement is Marie Wegener, the winner of Deutschland sucht den Superstar 2018.

Casperaki is a London-based start-up that aims to combine music technology with human creativity. The music production system uses a combination of artificial intelligence, samples and patterns to help shape ideas into both short sound clips and full songs. With additional tools for melody and lyric development, as well as AI vocals for demo tracks, Casperaki is dedicated to making music creation accessible and collaborative. “San Marino Sessions” is a unique experiment exploring the collaboration between AI and humans in music creation.

Everyone can listen, comment and express their preference for Casperaki’s songs in order to guide the professional musicians participating in the camp to choose the songs with the biggest potential.

The chosen song will be announced at a later date and will compete in the Established Artists category at Una voce per San Marino 2024.

The semi-finals will be held during February to select the eight emerging artists who will compete in the Grand Final, where they will meet the other eight established artists. On 2 March, at the Final, the jury will determine the results and, consequently, the country’s representative for Eurovision 2024!

The Piqued Jacks, winners of UVPSM 2023, finished in last place in their semifinal with zero points.
