Junior Eurovision 2024: Simone Grande will represent Italy in Madrid!
With two months to go until the 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the Italian representative was just revealed. Just moments ago, RAI announced that Simone Grande will fly the Italian flag in Madrid.
How was Simone Grande selected?
For the eight consecutive year, RAI opted for an internal selection. In fact, Simone Grande was crowned the winner of “The Voice Kids 2023“, back in December. Then, it was mentioned that the winner of the children’s talent show will represent Italy in Junior Eurovision, though it was officially confirmed just now, several months later.
RAI has previously used “The Voice Kids” as a source for its Junior Eurovision contestants; Melissa and Ranya, the representatives from the previous year, were both finalists in the inaugural season.
Who is Simone Grande?
Simone was born and is currently living in Rozzano, a small town close to Milan, where he’s attending the second year of middle school. He admits that he doesn’t like studying very much, but he does have a lot of other passions!
He loves to play football and has been playing football since he was 8 years old. His favourite team? Well, Simone is a big supporter of Inter Milano, keeping it close to home. Simone also loves cooking for his family and creating new recipes that everyone can taste together.
When he was just 4 years of age, Simone started dancing, thanks to his older sister Noemi. Nowadays, however, when it comes to performing, he’s completely focused on singing. When he sings, Simone says that he feels incredibly joyful and excited.
Simone’s song is expected to be released at a later stage but we already know the title, which is Pigiama Party.
