The first finalists of the Festival da Canção 2025 are known. JOSH, Peculiar, Marco Rodrigues, Bluay, Jéssica Pina e Margarida Campelo secured their place in the Final on March 8th today.
Tonight, after the ten songs being performed, the first five finalists were announced, after the Jury and public votes were combined at 50% each:

2. Rita Sampaio – “Voltas”
3. Du Nothing – “Sobre Nós“

8. Bluay – “Ninguém”
9. Jéssica Pina – “Calafrio”
10. Peculiar – “Adamastor“
However, as in previous years, the public and jury scores were not revealed, in order to create suspense for the Grand Final in two weeks’ time. Still, according to current views on Youtube, it can be seen that JOSH’s performance stands out from all the others in the semi-final, with almost twice as many views as Peculiar and Xico Gaiato, suggesting that it was also the performance with the biggest impact on television and on the voting.
Finally, the remaining 5 songs were subject to additional public voting, in order to elect the sixth finalist song to go through to the Final. And, after closed voting, the final song chosen to qualify was “Adamastor”, by Peculiar.
In terms of betting odds, Portugal remains in 5th place on the EurovisionWorld website, demonstrating that expectations have remained high for the various Eurofans who bet money on the Eurovision markets.
Next Saturday, it’s time for the 2nd semi-final, with favorites Fernando Daniel and Henka also participating, inserted in the remaining order:
