Ireland: Emmy will represent the country at Eurovision 2025 with “Laika Party”!
Just a while ago, Eurosong 2025, the Irish national selection for Eurovision 2025, was concluded. Eurosong 2025 served for another year as the country’s selection method for Eurovision and was hosted during a special edition of The Late Late Show, on RTÉ’s studio live from Dublin.
Hosted by Patrick Kielty and following the combination of votes from an international jury, a national jury and public televoting, Emmy was crowned as the winner with her song “Laika Party“.
A record-breaking 380 entries were submitted to the Irish broadcaster, out of which six entries were advanced to the televised final aiming for the Irish representation in Basel. The six competing songs were revealed from January 20 to January 24 and are the following:
- Adgy – “Run into the Night“
- Bobbi Arlo – “Powerplay”
- Reylta – “Fire“
- Samantha Mumba – “My Way“
- NIYL – “Growth“
- Emmy – “Laika Party“
Eurosong 2025 – in detail
Adgy – “Run into the Night”
A beautiful live performance with some nostalgia vibes. We could sense some Dima Bilan energy combined with Celtic elements. However, we expected a build-up, which did not come.
Bobbi Arlo – “Powerplay”
Eccentric. Bambie Thug paved the way for these performances last year and we’re happy to see more eccentric figures on the stage of Eurosong. An addictive beat… It has the looks, it has the beat and it has the potential to stand out.
Reylta – “Fire”
A performance inspired by the Irish tradition. Natural elements are present on stage and graphics. However, the chorus sounds repetitive.
Samantha Mumba – “My Way”
An interesting performance by Samantha. The whole atmosphere is theatrical and it feels like she is bringing a story on stage.
NIYL – “Growth”
You either love it or hate it. It is bold in every aspect. The stage performance, the looks of NIYL…EVERYTHING.
Emmy – “Laika Party”
A tribute to Laika, the first animal to orbit the earth but with a twist. The song is much happier than Laika’s story. Eurodance vibes by Emmy and a perfect way to close this year’s Eurosong.
