Eurovision 2024: Estonia’s Second Rehearsal!
The next country to rehearse is Estonia, represented by 5MIINUST x Puuluup and their song “(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi“!
Who is 5MIINUST x Puuluup?
The pairing of 5MIINUST x Puuluup is a wildly eclectic collaboration. The former has been a dominating force in pop music in Estonia over the last 6 years and the latter is an award-winning internationally active zombie-folk (if you were to ask them) duo.
Regardless of the perceived differences between genres, the extremes of both acts’ music blend together seamlessly.
5MIINUST regard themselves as bringing the firepower to the collaboration, with plenty of bass. Puuluup, meanwhile, contribute some extremely rare wooden lyra (Talharpa) melodies with which to offer to the world a totally fresh soundscape.
5MIINUST x Puuluup won Eesti Laul 2024, the Estonian national selection for Eurovision 2024, contributing to the Eurovision history with the longest Eurovision song title.
The Rehearsal
Estonia are rehearsing on stage next, and bringing plenty of their trademark energy.
We’ve seen some fun and eclectic collaborations at Eurovision over the years, and this year’s entry from Estonia is no exception – 5MIINUST are a well-known pop/hip hop group in Estonia, and Puuluup describe themselves as ‘a zombie folk duo’, with their song (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi, which translates as ‘we (really) don’t know anything about (these) drugs’.
The band all look very stylish in black suits with varying quantities of sleeves. The whole performance is a heady and joyful mix of thumping beats, traditional talharpa melodies and the 5MIINUST x Puuluup aerobic dance routine.
Also the CUBES are down, lit up with more cube graphics that change colour through the performance to match the LED wall behind. A neon cube extravaganza, and a LOT of fun.
Estonia’s Dress Rehearsal is taking place on Wednesday, 8th of May!
