France: Listen to “Mon Alliée”, the country’s final version for Rotterdam

Tom Leeb’s Eurovision 2020 entry, “The Best In Me”, was announced in mid-February and shortly after French Culture Minister Franck Riester described the song’s English chorus as disturbing in response to a question from a center party LREM’s MP.

The issue went on to add that the French representative at Eurovision, which is a national contest, should proudly use the French language, stressing that it prefers the country’s representatives to sing in French and not win, rather than  with an English song.

When the tracks were due to expire, it became known that the title of the French entry had changed with the song now being titled “Mon Alliée”. Apart from the use of a French title, the track has undergone changes as the French have become more used to it, giving it what it had been stressed to lack.

Eurovision 2020: Heads of Delegations meeting is over

With the established family photo, the meeting of the 41 Heads of Delegations participating in the 65th Eurovision Song Contest was completed shortly.

This year’s meeting was compounded by the aftermath of the coronavirus flare, which resulted in six delegations not to go to Rotterdam but to participate via live streaming. These countries were Sweden, Finland, Israel, Switzerland, Italy and of course as you first read at Eurovision Fun Greece. But there were also some absences from the EBU after an outbreak of the virus was detected by an organization employee in Geneva. As a result, all union officials were put on a travel ban and quarantined, and as a result, no one went to Rotterdam for the meeting of leaders, including chief executive Jon Ola Sand.

The meeting, however, went smoothly and the organizers had the opportunity to present to delegations everything they were preparing for Eurovision 2020. The producer of this year’s competition, Sietse Bakker, said in his statement that everything was humanly possible in order for Eurovision 2020 to normally held in May in Rotterdam. The Israeli chief of staff, however, made it clear that, for precautionary reasons, their representative, Eden Alene, would not travel to the Netherlands for the postcard shooting of her participation, adding yet another headache to the organizers.

In addition, Nentori has also been released in Greece by 314 Records and has been a huge success as it topped the Greek Shazam chart. Finally, she is one of the three judges in the television music contest “The Voice Kids Albania”.

It is worth noting that the song that she will perform at Eurovision 2020 is signed by the same creators as “Proud” of Tamara, who represented Northern Macedonia, earning the jury rating of Eurovision 2019.

Albania at the Eurovision Contest

In 2020 we will have Albania’s 17th entry in the competition, which debuted in 2004, with Anjeza Shahini and “The Image Of You”, which reached seventh place! RTSH showed interest in the Eurovision song contest in 2003. However, three more countries made their debut that year, and Albania was unable to compete. In the following years it managed to qualify seven times in the final and many more in the semifinals.

The best he won was 2012 with Rona Nishliu and “Suus”. The last two years it has managed to qualify for the final and obviously wants to continue her series.

In Tel Aviv, Albania was represented by Jonida Maliqi with “Ktheju Land”, after winning the FiK 57 first! She managed to score 90 points and finish 17th in the final!

For the second year in a row, Malta has chosen its representative through the popular talent show “The X-Factor”. The final of “The X-Factor Malta” took place on February 8 and Destiny Chukunyere was the big winner!

Young Destiny’s  mentor throughout the talent show was Ira Losco, the country’s representative in 2002 (2nd place) and 2016 (12th place). During the show, Destiny performed some of the most popular songs in the world, such as Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and The Lion King’s “He Lives In You”.

The young singer will represent Malta with “All of My Love”.

The creator’s  team includes Cesar Shampson, (Austria in 2018) and Boris Milanov, who this year in addition to the Maltese song is also signing German and Bulgarian entries.

What is Destiny Chukunyere?

Israel: Eden Alene will not travel to the Netherlands for postcard filming

Under the shadow of the coronavirus, today’s annual meeting of the Heads of Delegations participating in the 65th Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in Rotterdam.

The coronavirus is increasingly “touching” the preparations  for 65th Eurovision. The Israeli delegation during the meeting informed that the country’s envoy would not travel to the Netherlands to shoot the postcard. Cause, of course, the COVID-19 surge. So there is a big headache about Israel’s postcard. It is possible to either change the project in general or create a postcard without the physical presence of Eden Alene!

During the meeting each country has a representative who is informed about the upcoming Eurovision. The meeting also marks the official deadline for submitting each country’s participation.

The Netherlands: Jeangu Macrooy will compete with Grow in the 23rd place of the final

The draw for the Eurovision 2020 final was held in the Netherlands. Jeangu Macrooy was particularly lucky after the Dutch chief of staff pulled the N.23.

As you know, the order of appearance in both the final and the semifinals is determined by the organizers and approved by the EBU. The only draw being held is whether you will compete in the first or second half.

The exception to the above is the order of appearance of the organizing country, which is always determined by lottery, including all possible seats. From 1 to 26.

The Netherlands will compete at No 23, a very good place. Let us remember once again the participation of the country that will host Eurovision 2020, with Jeangu Macrooy and “Grow”:

Eurovision 2020: DJ Afrojack to be the Interval Act of the grand final

DJ Afrojack will join in Interval Act of Eurovision’s big final 2020! The acclaimed Dutch DJ will appear on Ahoy Rotterdam during the public voting. And he won’t just sit behind a booth playing his music.

Afrojack will be accompanied on stage by 65 young musicians who were selected by the organizing committee after several auditions. In addition to the 65 musicians, he will also be accompanied by 40 dancers and a 25-member gospel choir. It’s no surprise that Dutch organizers will combine electronics with classical music. Dutch DJs such as Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren and Hardwell are among the best known in the world. At the same time that artists like André Rieu and Jaap van Zweden have written their own story in the classical music industry.

A few words about Afrojack

Afrojack is one of the most famous DJs in tulips’ country. Originally from Spijkenisse, as Eurovision 2019 winner Duncan Laurence. Since the beginning of his career, Afrojack has appeared in the world’s largest music festivals. Among other things, the Dutch DJ appears in our country almost every summer. In the summer of 2019 and every Monday, Afrojack appeared at Starbeach at the tourist resort of Hersonissos in Heraklion,Greece.

He has collaborated with many artists, including David Guetta, Charli XCX and Jewelz & Sparks. Of course, this will not be the first time a DJ has appeared on the Eurovision stage. In 2013, in Malmo, Avicii performed the song “We Write the Story” with former ABBA members Bjorn and Benny! Two years later, in Vienna, DJ Left Boy opened the grand finale of the 60th Eurovision.

Eurovision 2020: Bulgaria in 1st place

We’ve had a number of tweaks to the betting table in the last few days, shortly before all entries were announced. Bulgaria is in the first place right now, with Victoria having gained impressions after announcing her participation! Iceland is in second place and Lithuania closes the top 3!

Bulgaria has so far confirmed the momentum of the last few days, aiming for its first victory in the Eurovision contest. Iceland is firmly in the top two places in betting, being one of the most serious contenders for a win in Rotterdam. Lithuania finally “lost ground” down 2 places compared to Friday.

The top five finishes with Switzerland, which wins 1 position, and Russia awaiting the release of its entry. Greece remains 18th with bookers not responding positively to Greek participation for the time being. Finally, Cyprus is in 37th place. The island of Aphrodite is 10 places below what it was last Friday. Of course, the release of Sandro’s song has not been mediated, which does not seem to have gained the confidence of the freelance betting until now.

Much can change in the next two months. The returns, as it stands, will go through several ups and downs. Party appearances, stage presence information and of course the appearances at Ahoy in Rotterdam can be brought up on the boards of betting companies. Nothing will be judged until the night of May 16 and the big Eurovision final!
