Breaking News: Alina Pash announces that she is withdrawing from the contest!

While Ukrainian public television announced this morning that it will meet on Friday to decide on everything that has emerged around its participation in Eurovision 2022, Alina Pash, the winner of the national final, in a dramatic message on instagram states that she withdraws her candidacy from the representation of the country in the contest!

I am a citizen of Ukraine, I follow the laws of Ukraine, I try to bring the traditions and values of Ukraine to the world…

I am an artist, not a politician. I do not have an army of public relations people, managers, lawyers to resist all this attack and pressure, the hacking of my social networks. threats. And also completely unacceptable wording that people allow themselves without understanding the situation and forgetting the dignity of every citizen of Ukraine

I do not want this virtual war and hatred. The main war is now foreign, which came to my country in 2014.

I do not want to be in this dirty story anymore. With a heavy heart I withdraw my candidacy as a representative of Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately. I’m so sorry.

We will contact the State and sign all the necessary documents.

Separately, I want to thank all those who support and help me, who listen to my song and my important message. Thanks!

We have a story with you and we have to decide what it will be ❤️

Let us unite! Now it’s more important than ever!

We are now waiting with interest for the decision of the Ukrainian public television and who will represent the country in Turin. Will we have a repeat of 2019, when it was decided to leave the country from the competition?

Stay tuned for all the developments!

Ukraine: “We are praying not to win. The second place would be the best ”!

Yaroslav Lodygin, head of Ukrainian public television and a member of this year’s Vidbir jury, gave an interesting interview to The Euro Trip. So, according to what he said with disarming honesty, as the head of the Ukrainian public television, he prays every year that his country will not win the competition, adding that the second place would be the most ideal scenario!

As a singing nation we always want to win, but considering all the budgetary restrictions we are almost in the situation as Iceland in the Eurovision film [The Story of Fire Saga].

As executives we are praying not to win every year.

The last time we won ,in 2017 it was a very big pressure on the company in terms of financing, in terms of interest from controlling bodies of the Ukrainian government, it’s always a big stress.

2nd place would be the best for Ukraine.

For another year, Ukraine is drawing the spotlight on itself and not only for its song. We remind you that the final decision on whether Alina Pash will eventually represent her country in the Eurovision Song Contest will be taken on Friday.

Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news about Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest!
