Eurovision 2022: Perugia as the first location of the postcards!

The shooting of the postcards for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest 2022 has begun, with Perugia being revealed as the first location.

RAI started shooting the postcards related to the new slogan  “The Sound of Beauty“, in beautiful and picturesque locations throughout the country. After all, it is obvious that Italy has a variety of beauty in both mountainous and coastal areas.

Cinguetterai reports that filming began yesterday in central Perugia, with the postcards set to be filmed throughout the rest of Italy in the coming weeks. RAI has not yet revealed details about the selected locations.

The postcards appear before the start of each entry in the competition, with each country having its own video. It is traditionally used to promote the host country of that year’s competition but also to present the singer or band that is going to participate.

In 2021 the postcard displayed all the artists in a small house in a unique place in the Netherlands. The artists filmed their presence in front of a green screen and then placed it on a house that was full of objects related to them.

Poland: The jury members of Tu bije serce Europy 2022!

The five-member jury of Poland’s national final for Eurovision 2022, Tu bije serce Europy, was announced today by TVP2. The members are the following:

  • Halina Frąckowiak: famous singer who has won many awards in Poland and abroad. Among her most famous works are Bądź gotowy dziś do drogi and Papierowy księżyc.
  • Marek Sierocki: journalist and presenter, with a long relationship with TVP. He led the selection of the Polish participant in Junion Eurovision 2021, while he has also been a commentator for both Eurovision and Junior Eurovision.
  • Marcin Kusy: radio presenter, member of the jury for the preselection of the Polish participant for Junior Eurovision 2016.
  • Szymon Orłowski: musician, composer and president of the LOFT ART Association for the Promotion of Culture and Art in Poland.
  • Krystian Kuczkowski: Documentary director and program director of TVP.

The song and the artist who will represent Poland in Turin will be selected by a combination of the votes of the jury (50%) and the audience (50%). In case of a tie, priority will be given to the televote.

Poland’s representative in last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, Rafał Brzozowski, will be the presenter of the national final, which will take place on February 19th.

Greece: The shooting of the video clip has been completed!

The shooting for the video clip of the Greek entry in Eurovision 2022 has been completed. After two days of shooting in the beautiful Symi, which welcomed Amanda and the rest of the Greek delegation in the most enthusiastic way, Kostas Karydas has the shots he wants in order to move to next phase, editing.

According to exclusive information from Eurovisionfun, Kostas Karydas is very happy with the result. The change of weather from sunny, cloudy and rainy seems to have satisfied the director, as it matches both the feeling of the song, but also the story he wants to show through the video clip.

Do not forget that Amanda’s song is experiential, since she wrote it after a separation. Nikolas Melachronidis, who plays Amanda’s boyfriend in the video clip, stated on ERT’s camera yesterday:

Theoretically, I am Amanda’s boy, who has not been doing very well lately…

The shooting took place both outdoors and indoors. Today, in fact, ERT published a photo from the inside of a neoclassical house, where Amanda is playing backgammon with her boyfriend, with the amphitheater Symi as a background.

We are now looking forward to seeing the final result, when the video clip is released. The song is expected to be announced along with the video clip, in early March! Amanda will be on the couch of Studio 4 most likely on Thursday 10/2, since there is a curfew for tomorrow and so the whole delegation will leave Symi on Thursday morning.

Norway: Interview with Oda Gondrosen | Norwegian Idol, Norwegian Mythology and Melodi Grand Prix 2022!

Oda Godrosen managed to get the ticket for the big final of Melodi Grand Prix 2022 and she gave an exclusive interview at EurovisionFun with Apostolos Bogiannos and Paschalis Barboutis.

At first she talked about her participation on Norway’s national selection with “Hummer of Thor“.

“My participation at Melodi Grand Prix had been a dream of mine since I was 5-6 years old. I have worked really hard and I’m finally here, trying to represent Norway in Eurovision. It’s a dream come true.”

The song came out at a camp she took part as an inspiration of Norwegian Mythology.

“We wrote “Hummer of Thor” on August at a very creative camp for MGP so that it can be well presented on stage. We had in our minds Alexander Rybak and Keiino with the sound of violin and flute. I told to the composers that I wanted a pop song and I looked through mythology to think about the content of the song. So we started writing a story, a fairytale. If we go deeper though, the song talks about me taking control of my life, I have the Hummer and I’m in control. I want people who will hear my song to create their own meaning of it”

Oda won the third semifinal of MGP and she will sing on the Grand Final.

“It’s fantastic. I’m very grateful for my qualification. All these days, I keep on reading all the messages people text me, people are sharing photos and videos of my perfomance and it’s so good and I’m very happy that I can be at the final. I don’t know if there will be any changes in the Grand Final, but if so, it will be only small ones”

Her favorite Norwegian entry is Alexander Rybak(2009) and her all time favorite Eurovision song is Euphoria(Sweden 2012) and some last year’s entries like Italy, Malta, Cyprus and Azerbaijan. 

Oda also mentioned her Norwegian Idol experience she had a few years ago.

“I reached the third place and it was a huge opportunity to show people who I really am. It was a great begging for me and I has very happy that I managed to get to the finals. This whole experience makes me feel more safe now in MGP, I feel much more comfortable in front of the cameras”

At the end, she sang a small part of her song “Hummer of Thor“.

Romania: The jury has concluded for the first part of the Selecţia Naţională 2022 semi-final!

Romanian broadcaster TVR has announced that the jury’s vote which will determine the songs from the first part of the Selecţia Naţională 2022 semifinal that will be passing to the next stage has been completed.

The jury has been tasked to rate all 45 candidates competing for a place in Saturday’s second part of the semifinal. 15 of them will win the ticket for the second part of the semifinal, provided that the public did not also choose them.

Specifically, the public voting for the first part of the semifinal will start tomorrow afternoon at 19:00 CET, with the public choosing 5 songs for the second part of the semi on Saturday. The 15 songs that emerged after the jury vote will be the 15 songs that scored the highest in the juries and that, at the same time, did not make it into the audience’s top 5.

Latvia: The running order of the Supernova 2022 final has been revealed!

Three days after the semifinals of Supernova 2022 took place, LTV revealded the running order of the upcoming Latvian national final to be held on Saturday.

Ten songs qualified for the grand final of Supernova 2022 last Saturday and one of them will represent the Baltic country at Eurovision 2022. These songs, as they will appear in order of appearance, are:

  2. Linda Rušeniece – “Pay My Own Bills“
  3. Bermudu Divstūris – “Bad“
  4. Miks Galvanovskis – “I’m Just a Sinner“
  5. Bujāns – “He, She, You & Me“

  7. Citi Zēni – “Eat Your Salad“
  8. Inspo – “A Happy Place“
  9. Mēs Jūs Mīlam – “Rich Itch“

LTV also announced that The Roop and Uku Suviste will appear in the Supernova 2022 final. The selection of Lithuania’s and Estonia’s last year representatives at Eurovision 2021 as guests is made semiotically, as on Saturday all the Baltic countries choose their representatives at Eurovision 2022.

At the same time, as the heads of the Latvian radio and television characteristically clarified, the viewers will have the right to vote as many times as they want the songs of their choice. We remind you that the final result will be judged by 50% by the preference of the Latvian viewers and by 50% by the preference of the jury that will be composed of native and non-native professionals of the music industry.

Serbia: Listen to the entries of Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022!

Serbia’s national broadcaster, RTS,  announced the songs that will compete in Pesma za Evroviziju ’22.

Through Pesma za Evroviziju ’22, the country’s representative in Turin will be selected, replacing the previously known “Beovizija”.

About 150 eligible compositions have reached the management of the music department of Serbia’s national broadcaster RTS, from which 36 entries have been selected to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Melodifestivalen 2022 started a few days ago, on February the 5th! The first three semi-finals of the national selection process of Sweden, are held at The Avicii Arena in Stockholm, which is the largest hemispherical building in the world and semi-final four, five and the final are to be held at Friends Arena, also in Stockholm.

The process

Two songs will directly qualify to the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2022, which will take place on the 12th of March. The songs that will place third and fourth will have to compete again, at the fifth semi-final, held on the 5th of March. There will be four semi-finals in total.

Oscar Zia presents all the shows of Melodifestivalen 2022, while due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the shows for the national selection process that will represent Sweden in Turin this year, will be held exclusively in Stockholm!

Melodifestivalen 2022 finals will he held on the 12th of March, when we will get to know who will be selected as a representative for Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin!

The detailed schedule of Melodifestivalen 2022 is described below:

  • First Semi-Final on the 5th of February, at the Avicii Arena
  • Second Semi-Final on the 12th of February, at the Avicii Arena
  • Third Semi-Final on the 19th of February, at the Avicii Arena
  • Fourth Semi-Final on the 26th of February, at Friends Arena
  • Fifth Semi-Final on the 5th of March, at Friends Arena
  • The Final on the 12th of March, at Friends Arena

See you on Thursday, when we will get the chance to listen to the one-minute snippets, of the seven songs of the second semi final, for the first time.

Austria: LUM!X has been selected to represent the country in Eurovision 2022!

19-year-old DJ LUM!X was chosen to represent Austria at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Halo”, while the Tyrolean singer Pia Maria is going to deliver the vocals for the song.

LUM!X (Luca Michlmayr) has several hits to his credit, including “The Passenger (LaLaLa)” and “Thunder”. In 2019, he released the song “Monster” with Gabry Ponte, known as the band Eiffel 65. The song has reached 210 million streams on Spotify and has sold more than 400,000 copies in Germany. It has a total of 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify and multiple platinum and gold hits.

The final decision was officially announced today through the radio show Ö3-Wecker, which presents every year since 2017 the representative or the participation of the country in the Eurovision song contest

The song will be presented in a few weeks!

Austria will compete in the second half of the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin.

Last year, Vincent Bueno represented Austria with the song “Amen” but failing to advanced in the Grand Final.

Romania: The hosts for the semi-final of Selecția Națională 2022 revealed!

A few hours ago, Romania’s public broadcaster, TVR, announced the hosts for the semi-final of the country’s national final, Selecția Națională 2022!

The hosts of Selectia Nationala 2022 will be the main characters of the TV show “Cu buru-n zori” of TVR 1, Anca Mazilu and Bogdan Stănescu. The hosts team will be completed by Ilinca Băcilă, Romania’s representative in 2017, who will be with the artists in the green room.

The 45 artists competing in Romania’s national final are:

We remind you that forr the first time, fans will be able to vote for their favorite song through the national final’s official Facebook page, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 of February, where they can vote for five songs to qualify for the second phase of the semi-final. The juries will vote for 15 songs to qualify and the semi-final will be completed in February 12, with the TV show, where the juries will will pick only 10 songs for the grand final.
