Sweden: From the stage of Melodifestivalen to The Voice of USA!

Ashley (Ash) Haynes, one of the members of The Mamas, participated in The Voice of USA‘s Blind Auditions two days ago.

Although she impressed the audience and the judges with her performance of Tina Turner’s “The Best”, she failed to turn any of the judges’ chairs.

The Mamas served as John Lundvik‘s backing vocalists in Eurovision 2019 and were supposed to perform the song “Move” to represent Sweden at Eurovision 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the competition. They made another attempt to represent their country in the competition the following year, but unfortunately they finished third in Melodifestivalen, with the song “In The Middle”.

The group, which consisted of Loulou Lamotte, Ashley Haynes, and Dinah Yonas Manna, has since broken up and is pursuing separate careers, however they do not completely rule out a reunion.

You can watch Ashley (Ash) Haynes’ performance in the following video:

The judging panel for The Voice of USA is made up of John Legend, Dan + Shay, Chance the Rapper and Reba McEntire.

Israelis are urging Icelanders to vote for Hera Björk instead of Bashar Murad!

The Eurovision Song Contest is another venue where the crises and conflict in the Middle East are clearly reflected. An example of this is the debates over Israel‘s participation in this year’s event.

Iceland‘s participation this year has political ramifications as well. Palestinian-born artist Bashar Murad is one of the artists claiming to represent the country. Due to this circumstance, the artist is the clear favourite to represent the country and has concurrently boosted Iceland in the betting tables.

Given this, a significant number of Jews have opposed to this entry. Indeed, there have been calls for Icelandic citizens to boycott Murad’s participation in the “Israeli-Icelandic Conversation” Facebook page, which strives to promote relations between the two countries. A such example is the post made by Yogev Segal, the group manager, urging Icelanders to vote for Hera Björk, the country’s representative in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, in order to prevent Bashar Murad from winning.

In view of the above, developments over the next period are expected to be of particular interest.

Below you can watch the performances of Hera Björk and Bashar Murad:

Cyprus: Where and at what time is “Liar” going to be released on 29/02! | EXCLUSIVE!

The video clip of Liar, as it has become known through the teaser released a few days ago, is going to be released on Thursday, February 29. But what we didn’t know until now, and it was something you asked us many times, was at what time, but also when we will be able to watch the video clip. Eurovisionfun is able to answer all these questions, as once again we have all the exclusive information.

For the first time this year, CyBC decided not to make its maiden broadcast of the video clip of its participation in the Eurovision contest through the news bulletin or from one of its entertainment shows. The song for 1 hour will be available exclusively through the CyBC website: www.rik.cy. Specifically from 17.00 to 18.00 cet you will be able to watch the video clip only through the CyBC website. Immediately at 18.00 cet the video clip will be uploaded on the Eurovision channel on YouTube and then on all digital music platforms.

We remind you that the video clip of this year’s Cypriot participation was filmed after several years in Cyprus, specifically at the Limassol marina and at the City of Dreams hotel. The director of the video clip is Kostas Karydas.

Silia Kapsis and Liar continue their upward trajectory in the betting odds, after the release of the teaser which has literally halved its winning odds. The Cypriot team is keeping a low profile and preparing every detail for Silia’s appearance on the competition stage, believing that they will be able to surpass last year’s performance of Andrew Lambrou and the twelfth place of Break A Broken Heart.
