After hearing the songs, the German audience remarked:

  • young woman – teenage appearance, “schoolgirl of next door”
  • looks likeable, like Nicole used to, or like Lena
  • looks like a cat – exudes calm
  • One would expect the singer to make romantic music
  • Piano is used
  • Guitar
  • A quiet, thoughtful, dreamy song that doesn’t get upbeat
  • German hit with english lyrics
  • Good background music
  • She obviously sings well, the voice almost doesn’t sound real

Live broadcasts from Berlin will take place on ARD Mediathek, eurovision.de, and Das Erste. Germany was represented last year by Lord of the Lost and the song “Blood and Glitter”. The band, which is well-known in Germany, came in last place overall, with a total of 18 points. Will Germany be able to recover from its string of poor results and move to the left side of the leaderboard?

Bambie Thug: I am the wildcard Ireland needs! | Interview

Bambie Thug from Ireland gave an interview to Eurovisionfun’s Paschalis. They introduced themselves to us, gave us some hints about the performance in Eurosong 2024 and told us about the message of the song.

About Bambie Thug and their music style

I like to fuse a lot of styles into one. I don’t like to put me in a box. I’m a singer, actor and dancer.

I’m a goth obviously, I love to wear black all the time. I also love theatre. I studied musical theatre in London. I love to create characters and different worlds. I love to play in all aspects of the world.

Why did they decide to participate in Eurosong 2024

We’re tied with Sweden for the wins. It’s been a long time since Ireland has been in the competition and they need a shake. I’m probably the wild card. It’s 50 years since ABBA won and I love them and I thought that I got to do it this year. My friends encouraged me to enter. Hopefully my country vote me in, it will be the right choice!

What is the song about?

I don’t write any music with anything in mind. I just write music. Doomsday Blue is about having your potential overlooked in releationships, in life, in career. It’s about being taken for granted, but also knowing your worth. It highlights perfectly all the facets of me musically from rock to screamy pop to jazz to electro metal. It’s a really fun song. It’s a task really to perform too. It’s not an easy task to sing it, it’s a challenge for me and I love challenges. I believe in a song, I don’t think there is a song that sounds like that anywhere else, so that’s why I decided to enter with it.

How has the experience with Eurosong been so far?

That’s great. It’s nice to talk to so many people and see how well it’s being received. I’m really grateful to be able to show my art to my country. My career is mostly in the UK. Ireland didn’t have a clue and that’s really special to me, being accepted by so many people in my own soil.

What can we expect to see on stage?

You can expect gorgeous costumes and an infectious performance.

Are they a Eurovision fan?

I’ve been watching Eurovision with friends in the UK. My friend Luke Black was there last year and it was cool to see him representing Serbia. There’s always something that I love, a song, the costumes, the spectacle.

Who’s their favorite Eurovision entries?

Conchita Wurst and obviously my friend Luke and Cha Cha Cha.

Would they collaborate with any Eurovision artists?

I would love to collaborate with ABBA!

Bambie Thug’s message to our fans

Please continue to support your little goth gremlin goblin witch in this journey and thank you for all your love. I’m willing to give you something really special! Love and witchcraft!

We thank Bambie Thug for this interview and wish them best of luck in this year’s Eurosong!

Israel: The entry of 2024 in Hebrew | A jury will choose it!

The song that will represent Israel at Eurovision 2024 and will be performed by the winner of HaKokhav Haba in Malmö, will be chosen by a committee, will include Hebrew lyrics and will be announced on March.

In a statement, Israel’s public television reports today that it has already invited a wide range of Israeli song writers to submit songs with one of which the winner of HaKokhav Haba will represent the country at Eurovision 2024. A necessary condition this year for those who will submit a song, is that it must also contain Hebrew lyrics. The talent show is coming to an end in three weeks and thus we will have the artist, who will raise the flag of Israel in Malmö, in this special year for the country. The song will be selected internally by a panel and be announced in a special broadcast on March!

At the moment, there are ten artists left to claim the representation of Israel in Eurovision 2024:

  1. Leanne Byrne
  2. Eden Golan
  3. Arik Sinai
  4. Shay Tamino
  5. Or Cohen
  6. Yonathan Biton
  7. Mika Moshe
  8. Dor Shimoni
  9. Moria Angel
  10. Oral Ravid

One of the above will be the HaKokhav Haba winner and the one who will get the ticket to the 68th Eurovision Song Contest. Last year Israel at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool was represented by the explosive Noa Kirel and the song “Unicorn” who gave the Middle Eastern country the third place in the Grand Final, receiving 362 points.

Italy: The journalists’ ratings of the 30 Sanremo 2024 songs!

On Monday, January 15, media representatives heard the 30 Sanremo 2024 songs for the first time and then published their reviews. The betting odds have also been adjusted as a result of the reporters’ remarks, making it more probable than ever that a woman would win!

Journalists appear to believe that three female artists have the best songs in Sanremo 2024. The surprise comes from 72-year-old Loredana Berte, the sister of the legendary Mia Martini, who has received overwhelmingly excellent reviews—even 10s, the highest possible score—for her autobiographical rock song from nearly every journalist! Here’s the energetic song by Annalisa, who might finally win the Golden Lion in 2024 and represent Italy in the Eurovision contest. Third is the artist Angelina Mango. There are two former Eurostars in fourth and fifth place, Diodato and Mahmood, to complete the top 5.

As you can see, Annalisa is now the clear favorite to win after the changes to the betting odds. Goelier, who had dropped in the rankings earlier, is now in third place, while Alessandra Amoroso, who has received mixed reviews, is still in second place.

Naturally, because the journalists are listening to the studio versions of the songs, there could be a twist when we hear the songs on February 6, the opening night of the festival, when the songs are performed with a live orchestra.

At the end of the month, the lyrics of the songs will be made public.

Israel: Everything that happened in the fifteenth HaKokhav Haba episode! | Ten artists are still in the race!

The fifteenth episode of HaKokhav Haba (special edition), the talent show through which Israel‘s representative for Eurovision 2024 will be selected, aired on Sunday, January 14!

Out of the 35 artists who made it beyond the audition stage, 14 advanced to the battle phase, where they will compete to represent their country in Eurovision 2024!

In episode fifteen, three auditions aired and five more artists went through to the next round. Assi Azar and Rotem Sela, who have been hosting HaKokhav Haba since 2014, are the show’s presenters. The jury is made up of Eden Hasson, Shiri Maimon, Itay Levy, Assaf Amdorsky, Ran Dankar, and Keren Pels.

Six competitors then gave performances in front of the judges and audience. Nevertheless, the jury ultimately selected one of the three performers with the lowest score to be eliminated.

Yonathan Biton Vs Dor Shimoni

Two excellent performances from both artists. The result was determined by a judge who voted against Dor Shimoni’s performance. Jonathan Biton advanced directly to the next round with a score of 92% to 80%.

Shay Tamino Vs Moria Angel

Despite the judges’ disagreement on both artists’ performances and the fact that none of them obtained a unanimous vote in favor of winning, Moria Angel emerged victorious with 82% against 66% and therefore moved on to the next round of the show.

Ido Bartel Vs Arik Sinai

After receiving 87% of the judges’ favorable votes, Arik Sinai emerged victorious . In contrast, Ido Bartel only got a 75% after failing to persuade the jury.

Ido Bartel was ultimately chosen by the judges to be eliminated from the show out of the three artists that were defeated in their dueling matches. There are currently just ten contestants left to represent Israel in Eurovision 2024.

The 10 artists still in the running to represent Israel in Eurovision 2024 are:

  1. Leanne Byrne
  2. Eden Golan
  3. Arik Sinai
  4. Shay Tamino
  5. Or Cohen
  6. Yonathan Biton
  7. Mika Moshe
  8. Dor Shimoni
  9. Moria Angel
  10. Oral Ravid

Israel qualified for the finals every year from 2015 to 2020 through HaKokhav HaBa, and Netta won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 with the song “Toy”.

Israel was represented last year by Noa Kirel and the song “Unicorn”, which came in third place with 362 points overall.

Georgia: Song submissions for Nutsa Buzaladze’s Eurovision 2024 entry are open!

Soon after Nutsa Buzaladze was named Georgia’s representative at Eurovision 2024, the national broadcaster of the country, GPB, launched a song submission platform wherein interested artists could submit proposals with the aim of choosing the most suitable song to represent Georgia in the competition.

Specifically, interested artists are asked to send their song submissions to eurovision@1tv.ge before January 30th. But no additional information was disclosed about the selecting procedure for the song Nutsa Buzaladze will be performing in Malmö in May of next year.

Who is Nutsa Buzaladze?

The international songstress from Tbilisi has participated in (and won) many different song contests over her career, including a top 12 finish at American Idol in 2023 where she performed a duet with Kylie Minogue on her classic track “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”.

In recent years, Nutsa has lived in both Los Angeles (where she wrote, performed and shot music videos) and Dubai (where she signed a contract with Theater Dubai and performed at Expo) but calls Georgia home.

In 2019 she released her debut album under the name Nutsa22, covering not only Georgian songs but also compositions in English, but it was Gelodebi that became her breakout hit leading her to tour the country with a live band.

Mileo: I watch the contest every year! | Interview

Mileo from Norway gave an interview to Eurovisionfun’s Apostolis and Paschalis and said that he is a true Eurovision fan and really wants to represent Norway in Eurovision 2024!

How’s the whole MGP experience so far?

A lot of stuff is going on, a lot of rehearsals, so many people messaging me. It’s way better than I had expected it to be.

Some things about him

I’m Australian-Norwegian, my dad comes from Oslo and I grew up half time here half time there. When you live in Sydney, which is incredibly multicultural, you end up with a group of people from somewhere else, so you never feel out of place.

The message of the song

When you like someone but they are with someone else and then you think how can I get rid of them? The character is crazy and wants to do whatever it takes to be with that person.
I wrote the song just for my project, the character of Mileo, who is a likable villain character. We sent the song and it was selected. It stands out and it’s great that they liked it enough so it is there.

What will we see on stage?

It’s very crazy. The character is insane and the staging shows that. He’s a little loopy and the whole stage reflects that. You’re gonna see the villain on stage. I can’t reveal more though.

Does he watch Eurovision?

I watch the contest every year. I drag my family and friends to watch it. I watch it almost every year. It’s always interesting. It’s a fantastic platform. 2012 is my favorite edition.

Which eurostars he would like to work with

I would like to work with Luke Black from Serbia and Jann from Poland.

Mileo’s message to our readers and viewers

Thank you so much, stream it. If you can vote for me! I really want to go there so badly. I love you and thank you so much!

We wish Mileo best of luck and we hope to see him in Malmo!
