Ireland: Listen to the sixth and final song, bidding to represent the country at Eurovision 2022!

As you’ve already read in our past articles, a while ago, the sixth and final song bidding to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, premiered on RTÉ Radio 1, during the “Ryan Tubridy Show“, at 10:00 CET.

 

The next song hoping to represent Ireland this year is “Yeah, we’re gonna get out of it” by Miles Graham and you can listen to its extended version below:

Who is Miles Graham

Miles was first play-listed on BBC Radio 2 in 2015 with his track “I Can’t Love You Again” from his debut EP “Air in my lungs”.

The Dublin-born singer-songwriter was one of the final Irish acts to perform in session on the late great Sir Terry Wogan’s Radio 2 show. His soulful toned voice won him a lot of support elsewhere on the station like Cerys Matthews at 6 Music and Laura Whitmore BBC Radio 5 show.

He’s also carved out a sideline niche as a featured artist and co-writer on several dance records. His collaboration on DJ outfit L’Tric’s “1994″ on their Ibiza anthem in 2016, which has clocked over 10 million Spotify plays. Don Diablo’s “Bright Skies (The bit you know)” 2018 and DJ Tom Budin’s “Reckless”.

His latest 4 track EP “All the right things” was produced when he signed to Pressure Records/Peer Music UK in 2020.

Now we know the entire lineup of contestants, that will compete in the hopes of representing Ireland, at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, in Turin.

The selection process

All the above-mentioned songs will compete with each other in the Late Late Eurovision Special, on the 4th of February, which will act as this year’s national final for Ireland. Ryan Tubridy will be the presenter of the show, where the Irish entry of this year will be selected.

Serbia: Stefan Zdravković withdraws from the national final!

A week ago, the Serbian broadcaster, RTS, announced the participants’ list and song titles for the new Serbian national final “Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022“. However one of the participants, Stefan Zdravković, will not finally participate in the show!

Through his personal Instagram account Stefan confirmed that we will not be seeing him in the Serbian final this year.

The question was “How is your song for Beovizija?” and he answered saying

“About Beovizija, we will see each other either in the next or some other year”

The singer did not give any further explanation about his withdrawal, although when asked why giving up on such an opportunity for his career he answered

“Yes, Beovizija (and Eurovision) is of course a great opportunity but it’s not the only one. The Eurovision Song Contest will also be there next year, I’m not giving up on it. Everything comes in its time”

He also revealed that his song “Ljubi Svog Čoveka”, written by Valentina Vukomanović, was pop and it might end up being sung by some other singer, as she holds all the copyrights. Stefan mentioned that’s what he thinks should happen but he can not guarantee anything. RTS still has not confirmed anything about the song being sung by some other artist or mentioned another solution.

Last year Stefan Zdravković competed in The Voice of Bulgaria where he reached the Semi-finals.

Ireland: Listen to the fifth song, bidding to represent the country at Eurovision 2022!

As you’ve already read in our past articles, a while ago, the fifth song bidding to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, premiered on RTÉ Radio 1, during the “Ryan Tubridy Show”, at 10:00 CET.

The next song hoping to represent Ireland this year is “One Night, One Kiss, One Promise” by Patrick O’ Sullivan and you can listen to it below:

Who is Patrick O’ Sullivan

Patrick O’Sullivan is known as the winner of RTÉ’s Last Singer Standing in 2021. Among others, in the final he competed against Janet Grogan, who he will face again in Eurosong, as Janet is also taking part with the song “Ashes of Yesterday“.

Before winning Last Singer Standing, Patrick starred in several West End productions in London on shows such as The Book of Mormon and Dr. Doolittle. In 2021, he released a Christmas single “The Hour Before Christmas“.

Nicky Byrne is one of the songwriters of the song “One Night, One Kiss, One Promise”. He’s known as member of the group Westlife and he represented Ireland in 2016 with “Sunlight”.

Estonia: The running order of Eesti Laul 2022 Semi-Finals!!

A few minutes ago, the Estonian public broadcaster, ETV, revealed the running order of Eesti Laul 2022 Semi-Finals.

Elysa opens the show of the 1st Semi-Final, while the 2012 Eesti Laul winner Ott Lepland closes the show. In the 2nd Semi-Final the rock band JYRISE and Anna Sahlene open and close the show respectively.

The Semi-Finals running order is as follows:

Ireland: Listen to the fourth song, bidding to represent the country at Eurovision 2022!

As you’ve already read in our past articles, the fourth song bidding to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, was expected to be premiered on RTÉ Radio 1, during the “Ryan Tubridy Show”, tomorrow at 10:00 CET.

However, it dropped earlier than expected! The next song hoping to represent Ireland this year is “That’s Rich” by Brooke and you can listen to it below:

Who is Brooke Scullion

Brooke Scullion is a 23 years old singer, from the County Londonderry in Northern Ireland, who is widely known by competing at The Voice UK 2020, where she placed third on the finals. She is a student at Ulster University Magee. Brooke has collaborated with Nathan Carter, by doing backing vocals. She also starred at the musical School of Rock, at Burnavon Theatre in Cookstown.

A while ago, the radio and television station of San Marino, RTV, announced the 60 emerging artists that will advance to the semifinals of Una voce per San Marino!

299 singers in the casting round of the competition have been judged by a jury of music experts and have determined the 60 finalists in the emerging artists. The full jury list is here.

In February 2022, through a series of semifinals and a final, the 9 entries that will go to the Grand Final will be decided. The emerging artists who will be ranked in the top 3 will receive cash prizes of € 1000, € 2000 and € 7000 respectively.

We remind you that the Grand Final will take place on February 19, 2022 at the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana. A total of 18 artists will participate in the final, nine emerging and nine established, who will be invited directly by Media Evolution Srl.

Finland: The Rasmus bid for Eurovision 2022 written on Folegandros Island, Greece!!

One of the most famous bands with worldwide hits from Finland, The Rasmus, who are going to claim the representation of the Nordic country at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, gave an interview on BlabberMouth.net  on 12th of January 2022 and revealed some interesting details regarding their entry, Jezebel.

The Rasmus collaborated with Desmond Child for Jezebel, with whom the have already worked again regarding their album “Black Roses”. Desmond Child has also worked with some of the biggest names of the world rock industry including KISSBON JOVIAEROSMITH and ALICE COOPER.

The singer Lauri Ylönen commented regarding their entry:

“It was awesome to work with Desmond again. He really knows how to put a hit song together.”

“‘Jezebel’ is about a girl who takes what she wants, without asking. A free spirit.”

On his behalf, Desmond Child said:

“Lauri gives me a call and says ‘Hey, I need to write the biggest, greatest song in the entire world ever. Will you do it [with me]?’ and I said ‘Yeah, but I am in Folegandros (Greece)’ and he says, ‘I’ll be right there.’

“‘Jezebel’ is an homage, a tribute, to the strong women of today, who own their bodies, who are in charge of their sensuality, their sexuality, and who are determined to be an equal.”

The Rasmus are going to take part at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022/UMK 2022, the show that determines the Finnish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest. UMK 2022 is about to take place on 26th of February 2022 and the winner is going to emerge through the votes of the public and the jury.

The band’s song Jezebel, which is already the big favourite according to the bookmakers, is going to be released tonight at 00.01 ΕΕΤ and you can watch it below.

Last year Finland was represented by another rock group The Blind Channel and their song Dark Side. The qualified from the 5th place of the 2nd Semi-Final, while at the Grand Final they achieved the second best result of the country after their victory in 2006, 6th with 301 points.

Ireland: First two songs to be presented tomorrow!

The Irish broadcaster, RTÉ, has just announced that the first two possible songs to represent Ireland in Turin will be presented tommorow, January 17th, on Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio 1.

Within the same week four more songs are expected to be presented to the public in the same way!

Last year Ireland was represented in Rotterdam by Lesley Roy and the song “Maps“, placing 16th on the First Semi-Final with a total amount of 20 points.

Moldova: More entries arriving from abroad the country!

According to the Organizational Committee, the biggest part of the entries received so far are coming from outside the country! This shows a raising international interest into this musical contest but keep in mind that only artists of Moldovan citizenship are able to participate.

The Moldovan national selection will be consisted of two rounds! After the examination of all the entries submitted, which will happen from January 25th to January 28th, the live audition of the contestants will take place on January 29th.

Last year Moldova was represented in Rotterdam by Natalia Gordienko and the song “Sugar“, placing 13th on the Grand Final’s scoreboard with a total amount of 115 points.

Malta: The official release of the songs for MESC 2022 is tomorrow!

Malta’s public televisionTVM, announced that tomorrow, 17 January at 20:00 CET,  exactly one week after the release of the song snippets of the 22 contestants of MESC 2022, the official lyric videos of the songs will be released.

The official song release, except the lyric videos that will come out, will also be done by the radio station Magic Malta 91,7, where the listeners will be able to listen to all the songs of MESC 2022 for the first time.

The contestants

We already know the 22 artists, as well as the songwriters of the songs competing in the semifinal of MESC 2022. From these 22 songs, 16 will qualify for the Final and of course the winning song will get the ticket for Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. The show will run for three nights, starting in February 17 and ending in February 19, when we will learn the country’s representative.
