Azerbaijan: Watch the music video of “Özünlə Apar”!

While the Azerbaijani delegation departed today for Malmö, having its first technical rehearsal scheduled for tomorrow, the music video of “Özünlə Apar” was just released on the official Eurovision YouTube channel.

Previously, a showcase performance was uploaded on Eurovision’s YouTube channel.

Fahree ft. Ilkin Dovlatov will represent Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2024, having been chosen internally by ITV. The duo will perform twelfth in the first semi-final on May 7. Their first rehearsal will take place tomorrow.

Azerbaijan: Listen to AISEL’s entry for Eurovision 2024!

Azerbaijan and Ictimai Television opted for an internal selection for Eurovision 2024. One of the selection’s participants, for which few information is known, was AISEL. AISEL claimed Azerbaijan’s representation for the second time, after having previously participated in 2018 with “X My Heart“, being the first Azerbaijani entry failing to qualify to the Grand Final.

Apparently and as Fahree and Ilkin Dövlətov were ITV’s chosen ones for Eurovision 2024, AISEL just released her Eurovision 2024 submission, titled “Game of Chess“.

Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2024

Following the voting of a jury committee, the following six artists were shortlisted and hence claimed the Azerbaijani representation in Malmö:

  • Emiliya Yaqubova
  • Ilkin Dovlatov, Mila Miles and Etibar Asadli
  • Aisel (Azerbaijan 2018)
  • Fahree I.
  • Qorqud (Elvin Novruzov)
  • Sabina Guluzadeh

Among the jury members of the selection there are Aysel Teymurzadə (Azerbaijan 2009) as well as Eldar Gasımov & Nigar Jamal (Azerbaijan 2011-winners).

Azerbaijan with Fahree and Ilkin Dövlətov and their song “Özünlə Apar” will perform twelfth in the first semi-final on May 7.

Azerbaijan: Nurlana Jafarova will serve as the commentator for Eurovision 2024!

A couple hours ago, it was revealed by Ictimai Television, the national television of Azerbaijan, that Nurlana Jafarova will serve as the Azeri commentator for Eurovision 2024.

Hence, Nurlana Jafarova will offer live commentary to the Azeri audience watching at home for all three live shows.

 

Jafarova has a great experience with radio programs and has also provided commentary for many international events throughout her career. Moreover, in 2018 she was selected as one of the five members of Azerbaijan’s national jury for Eurovision.

Fahree and Ilkin Dovlatov will represent Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2024 with their song “Özünlə Apar”. Azerbaijan is allocated to perform twelfth at the first semi-final on May 7.

Azerbaijan: The rehearsals for Eurovision 2024 have started!

Fahree and Ilkin Dövlətov are Ictimai Television’s chosen ones for Eurovision 2024. The duo will represent Azerbaijan in Malmö with their song “Özünlə Apar”.

Preparations have started in the Land of Fire with the two representatives sharing a video of their rehearsals for Eurovision 2024.

 

In fact, it is the first time we listen to “Özünlə Apar” live.

Who is Fahree and Ilkin Dövlətov?

The singer was born in Baku in 1995 and was brought up in a very artistic family; his father was a passionate jazz drummer, while his grandfather was a respected actor.During his university years, Fahree studied hard to become a lawyer, spending 6 years on achieving both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in law.

However, while the world was caught up in the global pandemic back in 2020, Fahree was living a renaissance of his childhood dream… dedicating his life to music. Fahree finally got the courage to put aside his juridical career perspectives and follow his real passion – and the Eurovision Song Contest is a dream come true.

Ilkin Dövlətov was a finalist in the “Voice of Azerbaijan, Native Songs” competition and rose to fame in Azerbaijan as a result of his performances. He toured foreign countries, performed at numerous festivals and concerts, and promoted his country’s national music. It should be noted that Ilkin Dovletov has been a favorite of Eurovision fans since his appearance in “Voice of Azerbaijan”.

How were they selected?

Following the voting of a jury committee, the following six artists were shortlisted and hence claimed the Azerbaijani representation in Malmö:

Azerbaijan: Fahree’s entry will be released on March 15th!

According to Esc Bubble, the Azerbaijani entry for Eurovision 2024 will be released on March 15th.

Fahree’s entry will be the last to be released for the 2024 season and following its release we will know all thirty-seven participating entries.

Following an internal selection for which few information was given to public, Ictimai Television revealed less than a week ago that Fahree is the chosen one.

Azerbaijan: Fahree will represent the country in Malmö!

Azerbaijan has finally reached a decision. Following an internal selection for which few information was given to public, Ictimai Television has revealed that Fahree is the chosen one.

 

Only the artist was announced at this stage, while the song is expected to be released in the coming days, considering that the deadline is on March 11th.

How was Fahree selected?

Following the voting of a jury committee, the following six artists were shortlisted and hence claimed the Azerbaijani representation in Malmö:

Azerbaijan: Two acts remain on the running to represent the country at Eurovision 2024!

According to Infe Azerbaijan, the six shortlisted acts have been whittled down to just two after the live performances had been assessed by a team of music professionals. The two acts still left in contention are:

  • Aisel – “Game of Chess”
  • İlkin Dövlətov & Mila Miles & Etibar Əsədli – “İnsanlar” (People)

Aisel, who represented the nation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, is a well known artist in the Eurovision community. She sang “X My Heart” at the contest, but came 11th in her semi-final, meaning she became the first Azerbaijani entrant not to qualify for the Grand Final at the contest.

Azerbaijan: A step closer to the reveal of the country’s representative for Eurovision 2024!

Eldar Gasimov, Azerbaijan’s representative at Eurovision 2011, this year will serve as the music producer of the Azeri delegation. Gasimov revealed that the country’s representative for Malmö has not been chosen yet.

Hosted on “Dikdaban” , he mentioned that the team in charge is really close to the Azeri entry’s selection and we will soon have an update. He also added that in the selection process, various professionals from America to Asia contributed, providing suggestions and special advice.

Azerbaijan: These are the six artists claiming the country’s representation in Malmö!

Azerbaijan will choose its Eurovision 2024 act via an internal selection, as usual. Nonetheless, this year’s Azerbaijani internal selection took the form of an internal competition. A submission window was opened till late September for those interested, a shortlist of 16 artists was made and then a “Live Auditions” round took place, in order to evaluate the peformance and vocal skills of the contenders.

Following the aforementioned procedure, Ictimai Television has announced via its official Eurovision account on Instagram, that out of the 16 artists that competed in the “Live Auditions” stage, 6 of them have been shortlisted.
