Ukraine: TESLENKO Withdraws from Vidbir 2025

Suspilne, the Ukrainian public broadcaster, has announced that artist TESLENKO has decided to withdraw from Vidbir 2025, the national competition that will select Ukraine’s representative for Eurovision 2025.

The artist’s management submitted an official request for TESLENKO’s withdrawal, which was accepted by the broadcaster. TESLENKO was part of the initial longlist of artists, from which the tenth and final finalist will be determined through an online vote. The remaining candidates are:

  • BRYKULETS
  • ENLEO
  • FIЇNKA
  • GRISANA
  • MON FIA
  • Ranrawi
  • Starykova Hrystyna
  • YAGODY
  • Muayad
  • Sluchay Sashu

The nine finalists for Vidbir 2025 have already been announced. These artists have automatically advanced to the final and will compete for the opportunity to represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2025. The nine finalists are:

  • Future Culture – “Waste My Time”
  • Khayat – “Honor”
  • Krylata – “Stay True”
  • Molodi – “My Sea”
  • Ziferblat – “Bird of Pray”
  • Abiye – “Dim”
  • DK Energetyk – “Sil’”
  • Masha Kondratenko – “No Time To Cry”
  • Vlad Sheryf – “Wind of Change”

Vidbir 2025 will be broadcast on February 8, 2025, as a single show. The winner will be selected through a combination of votes from the jury and the public, with equal weight given to both.

The jurors for Vidbir 2025 will include Jamala, the winner of Eurovision 2016, Sergey Tanchynets, a musician and producer, and Kateryna Pavlenko, the lead singer of Go_A.

Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil won Vidbir 2024 and represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2024 with their song “Teresa & Maria,” where they achieved 3rd place.

Ukraine 2025: the voting to chose Vidbir Jury has opened!

The voting for Vidbir 2025 has opened.  As in previous editions, the public will have a say on who are the professionals in charge of giving 50% of the total of the voting in the Ukrainian national final for Eurovision.

Ukraine broadcaster Suspilne has enabled the Diya app from December 16 to 23. The public can vote for one of the proposed jurors for Vidbir 2025.

The candidates for one of the spots on the national jury are:

  • Anna Svyrydova – director of Radio Pyatnitsa, host of YouTube show Muzroom
  • Andriy Hutsulyak – member of TVORCHI (Ukraine Eurovision 2023)
  • Dymtro Shurov – music producer of Vidbir 2022 and 2023
  • Dymtro Zezyulin – lead singer and composer of LATEXFAUNA
  • Jamala – winner of Eurovision 2016
  • Kateryna Pavlenko – lead singer of Go_A (Ukraine Eurovision 2021)
  • Katya Tsaryk – film director and screenwriter
  • Oleh Psyuk – member of Kalush Orchestra (Eurovision 2022 winners)
  • Serhiy Tanchynets – lead singer of rock band Bez Obmezhen’
  • Sasha Chemerov – musician, singer and producer

The top three candidates who get the most votes will be part of the jury for the next jury.  The jury determines 50% of the final result while the vote of the audience will determine the remaining 50% of the result.  According to the Vidbir rules, should one of the jurors withdraws the candidate with the next highest amount of votes will take the role.

Vidbir 2025 will take place in February, 2025.  The winner of Vidbir 2025 will have the chance to represent Ukraine in Basel.
