Ireland: Lyra in the running to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2025

According to reports, popular singer Lyra from Cork has already secured a spot in the final shortlist for Eurosong, which will take place in early 2025 through the Late Late Show. The winner of the competition will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Sources reveal that RTE, Ireland’s public broadcaster, is looking for a big-name artist to represent the country at Eurovision, and Lyra is seen as the ideal choice. With her unique style, stunning performances, and ability to captivate large audiences, she is seen as someone who could bring Ireland back to the top of the Eurovision scoreboard.

The singer, often referred to as the “Beyoncé of Bandon,” previously declined offers from RTE due to commitments with her debut album. However, with her album now topping the Irish charts, she seems ready to focus on the Eurovision project.

Her concert schedule for 2025 appears light, with only one show scheduled for March 28, which has fueled rumors that she is preparing for something big.

Lyra has previously stated that it would be an honor to represent Ireland at Eurovision:

“It’s really special that my fans want me to represent our country. I’m Irish to the core, and it would be such an honor.”

RTE believes that Lyra’s charming personality and warm demeanor will make her not only popular with Eurovision fans but also with the Irish public. Furthermore, her chart success ensures strong support from the Irish audience.

If Lyra manages to win Eurovision, her career could skyrocket, according to sources. With her theatrical performances and unique stage presence, Eurovision fans are sure to be impressed.
