The big winner of Sanremo 2024, Angelina Mango, has just confirmed in the press conference that she accepts her right to represent Italy in Eurovision 2024, in May in Malmö with the song that brought her victory at the festival, La Noia.
Angelina Mango managed to win the 74th Sanremo Song Festival, despite the fact that Geolier won the televoting with a record percentage, reaching 60%. The support she received from journalists and radio representatives brought her to the first place and thus gave her the right to be the one who will represent Italy in Eurovision 2024. The 22-year-old performer accepted her right and this is how we will see her in May in Malmö, to represent Italy in the contest.
Just three women have represented Italy since the country’s return to the competition in 20111 with less than stellar results, with only Nina Zilli managing to make the top 10, with Emma and Francesca Michielin finishing 21st and 16th respectively.
The song with which Angelina Mango will represent Italy at Eurovision 2024 is La Noia, the song with which she won in Sanremo. The composer of the song is Dardust, who this year also signs the participation of Luxembourg.

Italy is one of the founding members of the Eurovision Song Contest, making its debut in the first contest in 1956. It has won three times with Gigliola Cinquetti (1964), Toto Cutugno (1990) and Maneskin (2021).
The country was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest by the most famous and internationally recognized artists throughout Eurovision history: Ana Oxa, Domenico Modugno, Albano, Romina Power, Franco Batiatto, Umberto Tozzi, Mahmood, Matia Bazar, Marco Mengoni, Emma Marrone , Il Volo , Francesco Gabbani, Raphael Gualazzi, Massimo Ranieri, Ricardo Fogli, Maneskin, etc.
Italy withdrew from the contest in 1998 and returned to Eurovision in 2011 after a 13-year absence. Since their return to the competition, the Italians have been very successful, using Sanremo as their method of choice in almost all of their entries, taking two second places, one third and six other top-10 finishes since 2011.
This year will be Italy’s 49th participation in the competition. In 2023 Marco Mengoni took fourth place for Italy, with Due Vita.
