New Zealand: UKTV Will Not Broadcast Eurovision 2023!
UKTV is not going to broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 to the viewers of New Zealand. The last the broadcaster aired the show was in 2016.
UKTV confirmed to Eurovision New Zealand that they have not included the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in their schedule. The first time that UKTV broadcast the show was in 2014, both semi-finals and the grand final. However in the last broadcast of 2016, they only aired the Grand Final show.
In 2017, the broadcaster, which is part of the BBC’s international chain of channels, decided to drop the competition. Before UKTV aired the competition, between 2009 and 2011, Stratos broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest on a 12-hour delay in 2009 before delaying the show until June and July in 2010 and 2011.
Currently, the following non-participating countries have announced the broadcast of the competition:
- Chile – Canal 13
- North Macedonia – MRT
- United States – Peacock
